The MK Digital Direct Photo eBox is a unique constant-light system that surrounds very small objects such as jewelry and crafts with daylight-balanced, even illumination. It is ideal for anyone who needs to have photographs of small objects produced quickly, easily, and without a degree in Photography.
The Photo eBox takes up a fraction of the space of a conventional shooting table with lights. The shooting platform is 10 x 13.5" (25.4 x 34.3 cm). The 7.5 x 3.5" (19 x 9 cm) opening in the top and the 6 x 2.5" (15.2 x 6.3 cm) front slot allow use of different camera angles.
A 1' long, 8 watt switchable LED fixture is built-in to the top-front of the unit, for top-lighting, to add sparkle to stones in jewelry.

Overall I think that this makes it much easier to get consistent photographs of a pretty good quality if you follow ALL their instructions AND get the camera they recommend. You definitely still have to do some editing. The light is a little too cool for my taste and it takes some fiddeling with positioning to get the right angle / etc. Overall though, I would recommend this for anyone who has a large colleciton and a small amount of time to get good photos in, as long as you are familiar with photo editing. I would also recommend getting the led. In the near future I will probably get the sparkle light accesory as I think that will make it easier to position while still catching the faceting in the stones.

I use the Photo E-Box to photograph jewelry with a Nikon D70. The box is easy to set up and use--it provides even lighting on the object within the space but photos still need editing.
