Comments about Olympus 300mm f/2.8 ED Lens:
This is the 2nd Olympus SHG lens that I have, the first is the 150mm F2 lens. IQ is amazing, color is as real as it can gets and works well with 1.4TC & 2TC. Used it mainly for bird photography and its not heavy for a '600mm' view, good for long hike and no worries about bad weather as all SHG glass are weather seal.

Comments about Olympus 300mm f/2.8 ED Lens:
I rented this lens for the NCAA Lacrosse finals and it didn't disappoint. It was extremely quick with focusing, even with a 1.4x teleconverter on the lens.
I even hand held it for the heck of it and it is heavy, but it is so sweet to have a 600mm focal length!

Comments about Olympus 300mm f/2.8 ED Lens:
Best birding lens I have used, sharpness is unparalleled even wide open at f2.8. Of course with the crop factor on an Olympus E-3 it is a 600mm lens at f2.8. Focus is accurate and fast. It is a trifle heavy but with all that great Olympus glass that is to be expected. Lens comes with two ND filters and an outstanding polarizing filter.

Comments about Olympus 300mm f/2.8 ED Lens:
This is one Super Len’s…the tack sharpness though out all the stop’s is fantastic. It is quick to focus and great in low light situations. This is a heavy lens, but it go’s with me everywhere. Very well built and a dependable performer. I do not use image stabilization in the camera; therefore a tripod is a Must in most all of my shooting situations. Very expensive compared to other manufactures, but I do not regret spending the money for this lens. I feel the image quality is surpassed that of the other brands. The only drawbacks are the cost, weight and lack of a true lens cap. The Big Tuna is my #1 lens…
