I consider myself an advanced amateur and was looking for an inexpensive set of studio lights to add to my kit so I could shoot in a wider variety of situations. This kit fit my needs perfectly! The bulbs are strong enough to provide that extra light necessary without looking fake and the shoot thru umbrella provides a nice diffused light.I am glad that I ordered extra bulbs though, the first one blew within 5 min of turning it on.[...] We used it just tonight to take a pic of my 10 month old little guy!

This was my first venture into off-camera artificial lighting. I used the light to photograph a small, informal wedding. Everything performed well except the included light bulb. Fortunately, I set the stand up prior to the wedding to make sure I understood how everything worked. The light bulb burned out after about three minutes during the test run, even though I handled it as instructed, wearing a pair of white cotton gloves.

Comments about Impact One Floodlight Umbrella Kit:
I use two of these kits without the umbrellas with a fluorescent Eiko bulb for general constant lighting in my art studio. They're great. When I shoot images of my paintings, I have used both the Eiko bulbs and the standard tungsten with umbrellas and get great results from both.

Tired of calling myself a 'natural light photographer,' I've ventured into the world of artificial light for my photos. This kit is affordable, easy to use, and makes a nice addition to my gear. It's perfect for someone just learning the lighting ropes.

Comments about Impact One Floodlight Umbrella Kit:
I'm a hobbyist photographer that needed a cheap lighting solution for my first "real" photoshoot. I picked up two of these lights, and borrowed a boom light to complete the setup. These lights were easy to setup, provided an amazing light spread with the umbrellas, and are fairly sturdy.
My main complaints are that the included lights burned out very quickly, and the umbrellas diffused the light more than I would have liked. I replaced the bulbs with a couple 250W, and had no troubles the rest of the shoot. The umbrellas... well, I wasn't expecting something terribly great for the price, just something to get the job done, which these did (I originally priced out umbrellas that had a removable, reflective backing to hopefully get better illumination on the subject, but were too expensive for my budget.)

I use this for a basic one-light set-up for my photos. I like that it wasn't too expensive, as I'm just venturing into the world of studio lighting. I do wish it was a bit more sturdy, but some simple sand bags will fix that.

Comments about Impact One Floodlight Umbrella Kit:
A huge improvement if you have no lighting solution at all. I got 2 lights so experimenting with the different lighting arrangements is a breeze - and a nice education on lighting. I did need extension cords. The 2 lights (even 1) is ample enough for high shutter speeds. Would say the build quality will last - not commercial grade though. One nice feature to mention is that the mounts come with a hot shoe adapter so if you do upgrade to some speed lights, you can reuse the stands and brellas...

I used this along with some natural light for a recent session and it worked perfectly! It's lightweight but very sturdy. I do wish it had a longer power cord but I just used an extension cord.

As a novice videographer I found the lights easy to use once I figured out how to assemble them. (It would have helped to have had assembly instructions.) That aside, the lights work well and I am pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Impact One Floodlight Umbrella Kit:
I use the lights for both still and video shoots. The unit is compact, produces good light and is reasonably robust, though it can't be tossed about. The color of the light is natural and the quality of the light is good, with good saturation and no obvious spots where the light falls off.My guess is that if taken care of the light should last more than long enough to justify the cost of purchase.Overall a great value, typical B&H[...]

I am a novice when it comes to cameras and lighting. I was about to present my first online webinar, though, and decided to invest in lighting. This floodlight unbrella kit by impact was inexpensive, easy to assemble, and met all of my lighting requirements.
