Nikon's Action Extreme series offer lots of features that will be appreciated by those who enjoy the view provided by classically-styled porro prism units. Following the enormously popular Action series, Nikon has made significant improvements. The group still retains the high-refraction prisms with their wide viewing fields, and every model has a tripod adapter threading for easy extended glassing from a stationary position(requires an optional tripod adapter #7650).
All of Nikon's binocular line is backed up by the "No-Fault" lifetime warranty. Regardless of what happens to your binoculars-even of your own negligence-Nikon will repair or replace (at their option) your binocular for just $10 plus the return shipping costs.

I use these for bird watching and have FINALLY found a pair of binoculars that work for me. The collapsible eyepiece adapters allow use with or without eyeglasses. But my eyelashes are always in the field of view when using binoculars without my eyeglasses. So finding a binocular that works WITH my glasses is an EXTREME PLUS.

Comments about Nikon 8x40 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
these binoculars are very nice they let tons of light in and are very clear, great for night and low light times. I use them for everything from looking at wildlife to the moon and stars. the eye covers are loose and will probably not get used. neck strap is very nice and comfortable but the binoculars are on the heavy side but i don't see any real problems. i am very pleased with the product after extensively looking for about a month of almost all roofs and porro binos under $300

Comments about Nikon 8x40 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
I looked through a dozen pair of binoculars ranging in price from $49 to $950. The Nikon Action EX Extreme seemed brighter and sharper. Waterproof and Fogproof PLUS a $25 gift card! I got the EX because they will be used on the ocean, in the snow and on the deck. Easy to focus and eye glasses are no problem. These are easy and fun to use.

Comments about Nikon 8x40 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
Although I haven't yet gone to the soccer game in the stadium (that's the first definite use I plan for these), I'm sure these binoculars are up to the task of giving a very wide field of view and being plenty bright.A friend bought a pair of Bushnell 8x42 Waterproof binoculars ($45 from [...]), and the Nikon binoculars are noticeably (although not remarkably) better, especially in the image evenness across the whole field. The view in the Nikons is slightly brighter, too. I'm VERY happy with the optic quality of the Nikons: the binoculars also come with a decently WIDE strap, obviating any need that I see for buying a separate strap. Also, the Nikons had a thoughtful system for attaching the lens caps to the strap so you don't lose them when they are removed from protecting the lenses.

Comments about Nikon 8x40 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
I photograph birds about 99% of the time. I needed a pair of binoculars to help me spot smaller birds at a distance. For en effective purchase price of about $85 (with Gift Card rebate) you simply cannot find a better pair of binoculars for the price. Are there better binoculars out there? Of course - but not at this price/performance ratio. The eye relief is great; the focusing knob is smooth; bright, clear optics; and highly rated by others in the know about technology (such as Cornell Ornithology Labs). The Nikon warranty/replacement feature is "icing on the cake." I would like to say that if you can find a better pair of binoculars for this price, I'd almost be willing to buy them for you. They are that good.

Ordered these Nikon binoculars for the first nascar race in Kentucky. They are clear, easy to focus and have the right "field of view" for watching a race. Easy ordering[...] would have me shop at B&H again.

Comments about Nikon 8x40 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
Very clear and user friendly binoculars. B&H had by FAR the best price. I am very glad I went with the Action Extreme (Water/Fog Proof). The first week I had them they were exposed to serious rain and performed flawlessly. Very happy with the product so far. Looking forward to hunting season.

I have been using the same binoculars for over 40 years. True story. Man, have they come a long way. We use these for bird watching. One of us carries the Nikon, the other gets the binoculars. Tough call which one is winning

Amazing optics for the money. The only down side is that they are a little on the heavy side. I purchased them for birding and law enforcement use. They work great, even in low light situations. I have already referred to two other people who are buying a pair.

Comments about Nikon 8x40 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
I'm tough on equipment but these binoculars seem able to take the punishment. They are even better than I had expected. The only reason I did not give them a five star rating is that the strap is too narrow and stiff. After a short time it tends to dig into the neck. I replaced it with a more suitable strap and all is well. I highly recommend this binoculars to anyone.

A birthday present, they arrived just in time for me to get used to using them and to watch the Winter Solstice Lunar Eclipse with them. Impressive! Lightweight, they nonetheless have a very solid feel and smooth operability. Easy to focus..quality lenses. Haven't gotten used to them while wearing my glasses. Even without glasses, they are terrific! The case is lightweight and protects them adequately.

Bought these recently for a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. Far superior to my old binoculars, but a bit heavy to carry around. Caps on lenses have a tendency to fall off.

I plan to use this Binocular for sightseeing when I travel. The size is small and weight is light. So there is no problem in bringing it any place. It has very clear lenses. I am very happy about this product. I think I can watch stars and birds too. It is waterproof and fogproof so I don't have to worry about taking it to a lake or beech.
