Not quite as high-tech as I was expecting, but it does the job I need it to do. I will probably purchase a better mat cutter later in my career, but this does the job for now!

I like this mat cutter - very straightforward, easy to use, easy to make measurements. The only thing I can forsee is that I probably will outgrow it once I want to make bigger mats!

Comments about Logan Graphics Graphic 32" Compact Mat Cutter with Guide Bevel:
It does what it says for the most part. What no one tells you is while the mat can be 22 inches tall, the measurements on the side only go up to 4 1/2 inches wide. So you'll need some kind of extension for anything larger than 8x10.

Comments about Logan Graphics Graphic 32" Compact Mat Cutter with Guide Bevel:
I borrowed this mat cutter from a friend, and I was very pleased. The instructions are clear, and it requires just a bit of practice to get great-looking mats. As a leftie, it was difficult at first, as I had to push the cutter, which required extra arm strength, and was a bit awkward. However, I found if I stood facing the back side of the cutter instead of at the end, I could pull the blade instead of having to push it. This made it easier, and didn't require as much arm strength. I also learned to hold the matboard firmly with one hand, as it can slip otherwise (even though there is a bar that secures it fairly well). I also went over my cuts a couple of times and actually went a tiny bit past the stop mark to avoid having any sections or corners that didn't get cut completely. The blades are easy to change, and I was able to cut 4 or 5 mats before needing to replace the blade. When the bevel cutting head is not in use, the blade retracts easily, which is a great safety feature. The whole system seems sturdy and of very good quality. I highly recommend the Logan 301 S model, and plan to buy one soon!
