All of the Apple Cinema Displays are wonderful. I bought the 23-inch Apple Cinema HD Display because it seems just the right size for my progressive eye glasses (not having to move my head too much to see the whole screen). The 30" was a bit too big for me. But here is my experience with this monitor.
At first, I tried to go with the cheaper Dell 2808WFP display/monitor. But I found it too be very fatiguing on my eyes. No matter how I adjusted the settings, I couldn't watch it very long. The Dell monitor hurt my eyes. Not the case with the Apple Cinema Display. The images and viewing from side angles is excellent.
The other big issue for me, was the amount of heat coming from the monitor. With the Apple, there is hardly any. The Cinema display has no vent holes (and apparently doesn't need it) because of the solid aluminum design. The monitor is so well built and designed... it's a thing of beauty.
You only have one cable coming out of the back (not so with other monitors). It comes with two USB and two Firewall ports. You also have a programmable power function and brightness controls cleverly hidden on the side. Plus the power on/off and brightness are controlled by the computer (no so with the Dell). Also the Dell's other inputs (that seem like attractive features) turned out to be very disappointing to me.
So I am so happy I went with Apple Cinema Display. Once you own one, you won't regret it. This display is certainly worth the price. If you want the best image quality and the best looking design, that won't hurt your eyes... then get this monitor.

photo editing, I use this as my every day monitor maybe 2-3 hours a day 4-5 days a week. Great looking monitor and if you had asked me a month or so back I would have given it a 5 star rating. Now under 2 years old mine is dying. Apple wants almost $500 to fix it so going to replace it rather than fix it. I love apple but will not but another display from them. You pay a Hefty price and do not get features cheeper displays have. Also mine dying and apple not working with me on the repair cost kind of stings.

Once you own any Apple product, you won't look anywhere else. I have never disappointed from apple product. Expect quality, awesome design. They pay attention every detail of the product. If you are looking for a tacky, cheap, go elsewhere, there are plenty out-there. Dell, Samsung etc. Yes I have try cheap product from ViewSonic display. I am disappointed. If you are a graphic pro. this is it.[...]

This is my second Apple monitor and I've been really happy with the clarity and sharpness of the 23" display. A very nice addition to any MacPro or Apple laptop.

Comments about Apple 23" Cinema HD Display Flat Panel LCD Monitor - DVI:
i exhausted all means of researching monitors before buying this one. it seemed that no matter where i looked there were negative reviews on just about every monitor i thought about buying - except of course the $2000+ models out there. although i knew those might be 'the best' i just couldn't swallow the price tag. i have been working for years in my photography/graphic design business on a laptop that i know wasn't cutting it. i had two dell 24" ultrasharps that i tried out and ended up sending back. the only reason i didn't give these cinema's a 5 star is because of the lack of adjustments for viewing, they are basically one height and don't rotate. i knew this before buying and it wasn't an issue for me. i bought two 23" to use side by side and i couldnt' be happier. they are stunning. i was so impressed with the ease of use, just one cord coming out of the back and very user friendly. just plug and go! although it was a bit pricey for two of these bad boys, i feel i made the right choice. i'm not a gamer so the response rate wasn't an issue, i work with static images mainly, photoshop and other adobe programs. these DO NOT have a glossy screen like previous models, matte frame and screen.

Color Accurate, large monitor, more desk space.
Slightly curve, needs adapter cable for my G4 which I did not know when I place the order. My down time till I could get it hooked up was 7 days.

I use the monitor together with a MacBook Pro. It is a great combination. The monitor has a big resolution and its size makes me feel get into my landscape project. It provides to have a good over view of the project areas wich avoids constanting zooming in and out. I don't have any negative comment about the monnitor. It is light weighted, nice, mate screen, just perfect.

I edit with FCP and work on this monitor hours and hours at a time. It has a great picture and look.I did have a power supply die on me after two years of everyday use. I have apple care, walked into an Apple store, signed a piece of paper and walked out with a new one. Retail is like $50 - less then 60 mins and I was back up working.I am adding a second monitor and would love to get the 30" but at twice the price - hard to justify. So it looks like another 23"[...]

Bought this monitor to upgrade from my tiny 15inch, Wow! What a difference. I use on Dell Precision 490 Desktop & I can work very comfortably with my images now that I have a ton of screen, color is great, nice & bright. Highly recommend if you're gonna work on large images.
