I had looked at other bags from $100 less to $300 more, and decided to go with this bag from Lightware. It fits up to the longest stands I have, yet the bag is very lightweight. There are 3 compartments. The main one in the middle is true to the specs listed here - 48"x10"x8". The 2 side compartments are about 45" long x 8" high or a little under. And the width of the side pockets range from 3.5" at the edges all the way out to 6" at the center - very roomy for additional lightweight gear. I'm sold! Only con was not having more photos on the website or anywhere else, since I bought it online. I'm glad I did.

I originally purchased this and then sold it a month later. My reason for doing so is that is has a weak solid support underneath. It tends to sag and becomes a bit of a "wet noodle" when adding real equipment. I travel through airports for location work, so I also need something that's going to protect my equipment from the TSA and baggage handler throws it's going to endure. I can tell you that I'd never put a light or sensitive equipment in this bag. ONLY stands, cords, etc. should be in this bag. Nothing that can't take a hit. If you're a local wedding photographer who'll throw this in the back of your SUV, this bag will suit you fine. For the rest of us location and advertising photographers who leave our equipment for baggage handlers, this bag is only suited for misc equip. The Lightware RC1032 and RC1042 have been discontinued (for those of use who need serious travel cases). I spoke with Lightware and they're redesigning both of those bags (mainly due to wheel redesign, which was needed). There's no other serious, lightweight bag on the market until the redesign of those two are available. With airlines becoming more strict on weight, Pelicans are too heavy. When you add equipment, they're always way over. I'm waiting for the Lightware RC1042 redesign.

Comments about Lightware RC1048 Rolling Stand Bag:
I carry 5 Manfrotto 1004BAC light stands in the center compartment, 2 Manfrotto 1052BAC light stands in one side pocket, and 3 60" umbrellas in the second side pocket. The fully packed bag is nearly too heavy to lift. Fortunately it's got wheels which is great until you have to go up a flight of stairs. It also fits sideways in the back seat of my car. The build quality of the bag is excellent. The zippers are good quality and travel easily. The bag is padded. The center compartment has straps to secure the contents. I highly recommend this bag to any photographer who travels with lighting equipment by car.

Comments about Lightware RC1048 Rolling Stand Bag:
The greatest thing I love about this bag is the ease in which I can load/unload it. The top zipper opens up the full length of the bag allowing me to access the contents of the bag very quickly. I've tried multiple other bags/cases and spent a lot of money... and then I found THIS. This one is definitely the most functional for me. Other benefits include the huge side pockets, the securing straps, and the wheels.
The one thing I wish it had is a handle on the end where the wheels are. That would be helpful for allowing two people to lift/carry the bag when necessary.

Comments about Lightware RC1048 Rolling Stand Bag:
This is a good bag for durable gear. Reasonable padding and security, strong zippers (though the main zipper is a bit difficult at times to manage). Nothing truly sensitive or fragile belongs in this bag but it is a great way to store stands and such and transport them in my vehicle.

Comments about Lightware RC1048 Rolling Stand Bag:
Excellent build quality and can store a tun of stands and equipment..but beware, because of the durable quality and size of the bag it can get VERY heavy, very fast, the wheels do help getting it around but be certain your car can fit this gigantic bag. All in all I am happy with the purchase becuase I know it will expand with me as I need more space in the future.

Various light stands, softboxes, umbrellas, and grip stands can now be narrowed down to one case. Perfect! I simply could not believe how much extra space I had in the side pockets. Great! Well built and handles well.

Comments about Lightware RC1048 Rolling Stand Bag:
I needed a well built product to transport my light stands and associated gear on location for weddings and commercial shoots. The lightware bag is well build, can be carried or rolled as it comes with double wheels. Heavy duty zippers and durable fabric complete the design.

Comments about Lightware RC1048 Rolling Stand Bag:
This bag holds allows me to condense 3 bags into one when I travel. BTW airlines have raised excess baggage to almost double what it was before August of 2008. It's long enough to hold two 4 foot jib arms as well as light stands and a tripod. Two side pockets the length of the bag on either side. Well padded, easy to roll around and a quality made bag.

Comments about Lightware RC1048 Rolling Stand Bag:
This case will hold the largest of tripods along with four heavy duty light stands, yet handle very well in the tightest of spaces. This is one of the most intelligently designed cases I have ever seen. Carrying long grip equipment has always been a clumsy problem, but this case offers the PERFECT solution!

Built Lightware "right" it will never wear out.It does what it is made for making my life a little less complicated and my equipment just a little more portable. Excellent product, I only buy Lightware.
