The SL-1210M5G is a top of the line professional turntable. I purchased this for audiophile listening. Set up with an Ortofon Bronze cartridge, the part it plays in sonic reproduction is simply amazing.

Heavy duty and visually attractive.

Note that, as shipped, one must set the voltage to 110 (switch is under the turntable platter), and it took me a while to realize the European to US plug adapter was stapled to the outside of the turntable box in a separate package.

These Technics SL1200 series turntables are 1970s designs based on big budget development by the Matsushita Corp. It is not some fly-by-night product that is here today and gone tomorrow. It is built like a tank, and whilst they are no longer made there appears to be no shortgage of spare parts and people with know how out there if you ever need parts or service. For the money it represents excellent value - simple proven design and rock solid performance.

Flawless. Get yours while you can. I put an M97xe on mine and all I can say is that this turntable is perfect. You can buy one of those audiophile contraptions if you want, it still wont be a wheel of steel. SL1200's that were put in service in the 70's still work today. You're call.

I've always wanted one of these beasts and now that they are being discontinued, I had to get one! Definitely worth it! It takes a little patience to set it up correctly but it's an awesome piece of equipment. Get one while you can!

Truly the best piece of equipment i've owned. I've been using the Technics mk 2's and they've never let me down. Regardless I needed some change and the improvements made with the M5G will make me never look back. This is the table to end all tables.

The M5G turntables are truly the most precise direct drive system I have ever used. The clarity and vibrance of the sound is just as good as CD quality. I would recommend the M5G's to anyone looking for superior performance, it does not get any better. Very very minimal flutter!

For over 30 years the Technics SL1200 range of turntables have been the cornerstone of any professional DJ's arsenal, they have never been bettered even though dozens of other manufacturers have tried,this edition is the pinnacle of the Technics brand, safe to say their greatest ever product and apart from headphones their final one because recently they announced the end of the Technics brand. The SL1200 is no more, this is the last chance to get one and it's the best ever. Carefully thought out new features have been added like the LED illumination, the expanded pitch control and then instant return to quartz lock feature. the build quality as ever is stunning, a true work of engineering from the heavy rubber base to the solid metal upper section, this is quality all the way. My only criticism is the lack of hinges to attach the included perspex lid and the cheaper lighter rubber mat they they include these days. Apart from those easily solvable and minor omissions this is an essential purchase, get one while you still can because I can tell you very soon they will be like gold dust.

Con: price (but this turntable is worth it)

Overall this turntable is the the best it will not disappoint and if this is your first turntable read the manual to set it up properly. Happy mixing.

The 1210 m5g's are not only great looking but offer a wider pitch range.
I initially purchased them because they were metallic black and were different than the 1200 mk2's that I had.

Very pleaseed with them and well worth the money.
