Though it is listed as being compatible with both. Got one and used it with my 810 and it was easy to use and very useful. Got a new 850 and it doesn't fit at all. Considering the 850 is the successor to the 810, you'd think something like this would translate, but apparently no.

Yes, I have several because I have several bodies and travel kits. The viewfinder is of the quality you expect from Nikon, and of course way over priced for what you get.

The Nikon DR-5 Screw-In Right Angle Viewfinder is only compatible with a few Nikon cameras. Currently there are no right angle finders for a Leica M10-R.

I shoot long exposure photography, does this allow you to 'close' the eye piece?

If one is replacing the original eyepiece, with the Nikon DR-5 Screw-In Right Angle Viewfinder, then one cannot "close" the eye piece. But if one is screwing it into the existing eyepiece, then one can still close the eyepiece.

Can you adjust the resistance on the positioning of the device and the diopter position. Multiple reviews describe these as problems, but one said the resistance on both was adjustable.

The position of the DR-5 does not change, and you cannot adjust the positioning of the device.

Nikon DR-5 Screw-In Right Angle Viewfinder was design for Nikon DSLR camera series. This accesory is not compatible with the Nikon Mirrorless cameras.
