The 77mm ExpoDisc Neutral White Balance Filter (Portrait) is optimized for Portrait photography. Each filter is individually assembled and calibrated to consistently produce custom color at capture, resulting in warmer and more pleasing skin tones. The ExpoDisc can be used on-the-fly to set a white balance in-camera when shooting JPEG, or it can be used to capture a gray frame to use later in post production when shooting RAW.
Using an ExpoDisc Portrait to set a custom white balance will eliminate many of the yellow, red and blue color casts commonly seen when using Auto White Balance in digital photography. The ExpoDisc is easy to use. Setting a white balance with the ExpoDisc is fast, and eliminates many of the inconsistencies and inconveniences associated with using white balance cards and targets, including unwieldy size, unwanted reflectivity, improper angling, and shadows.
To set a white balance with an ExpoDisc, simply take a photograph of the light source (incident light) through the ExpoDisc, then follow your camera's instructions to set the camera's custom white balance. Because the ExpoDisc is calibrated for an 18% light transmission, you can also use it as a reference tool for manually determining proper exposure. The ExpoDisc is available in a variety of sizes to fit most popular lenses. The ExpoDisc does not thread into the lens; instead, its quick mount design can be pushed-on and popped-off to facilitate a quick white balance.

WOW... I have no idea how I lived without this for so long. I used to either use a gray card or auto white balance, but ExpoDisc gives you perfect WB every time and it couldn't be easier to use. I highly recommend!

Glad I made the investment. Easy & Accurate tool for portrait photography. I recommend buying a size that will fit over all your lenses. Go with the largest lens size you own. You can just hold it over the smaller ones.

Comments about ExpoImaging 77mm ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance Filter (Portrait):
I already use Expodisc neutral for adjust white balance. It useful when there is no gray subject in photo and the main subject is to far away to put a gray card on location. I love the skin to obtain with Expodisc portrait (the neutral one is not ideal for this kind of photo). The Expodisc Portrait also use a small stopper inside the ring, so it's easy for the filter to stick on the lens while ajust white balance.

I used this for the first time an hour ago. Holy cow, I'm in love. I can't believe how well this works. Its a bit painful to think of all the time lost over the years correcting WB in the computer. One of the best items I've purchased for my photography needs.

I've been using the Expodisc neutral filter since 2005. Recently I purchased the Portrait filter because I wanted warmer skintones in my subjects.
The Expodisc Portrait filter didn't disappoint me. In the future I plan to use the Portrait filter everytime a human subject is involved. I will use the Expodisc neutral filter for inanimate subjects only.

It really saves time. For me, I could almost forgo shooting in RAW because of the color accuracy of the Expodisc in those situations where I am able to use it. Well worth the price.

Comments about ExpoImaging 77mm ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance Filter (Portrait):
I hesitated at the cost, but went ahead and I'm very impressed. My RAW shots are all spot-on with respect to color; makes processing them much easier. The Portrait Disc does make non-portrait shots a bit warm; I'd suggest getting the regular Disc for those. But for portraits, this is it.

Comments about ExpoImaging 77mm ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance Filter (Portrait):
The filter provides the image with warm color. The skin tone looks real nice with this. But the other thing is it also make the leaves and trees around turn to Fall! So studio work will be best with this. Outdoor shooting doesn't work well at all. Might be needed to shoot Fall season since it enhances the color of yellow. Other than that, good use!

Comments about ExpoImaging 77mm ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance Filter (Portrait):
I no longer shoot without setting up my white balance using the expodisc. My sessions are both in the studio and in the field. In fact, I just did a portrait session in the studio, and used the disk to set the white balance. The results are consistently excellent.
The greatest thing about the expodisc is it's ease of use. I'm a Nikon shooter, so I put it on the lense, set the PRE, snap the shutter, look for the "good" signal and go.
I have no complaints at all, and recommend this product to friends.

Comments about ExpoImaging 77mm ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance Filter (Portrait):
Used outside only. Extraordinary when light does not change. Slightly more complicated in changing conditions such as partly cloudy. Huge reduction in post. Like it.
Be sure to get size that fits either most common or largest lens.
