Comments about Wolverine 60GB FlashPac 7000, 7-in-1 Portable Data Storage Device:
I will be giving this Wolverine a full workout in a couple of weeks when I head overseas for a trip, but in my tests so far, it's looks I made a good buy. Admittedly, with no photo preview, you do have to place a certain amount of blind trust in the device, but I've used it a couple of times now without any issues . And having the ability to download and store files from different card types in definitely a bonus -- it's capturing both the RAW photos from my CF card as well as the photos and videos from my wife's xD card.

Comments about Wolverine 60GB FlashPac 7000, 7-in-1 Portable Data Storage Device:
Purchased two 60GB Wolverines for a recent vacation. Wanted to avoid the hassle of carrying a laptop although I do like the security of burning duplicate DVDs and keeping them in separate locations. The Wolverines are small and lightweight. The transfer (my family had 3 cameras, each using different media: Compact Flash, Memory Stick Duo Pro and SD) was easy: turn it on, press the "copy" button and wait. The memory stick and SD transfers went pretty fast as the files were smaller, but my 8.2 MP RAW files took awhile. It's important to make sure the units are sufficiently charged to accept a large number of RAW files as the process can take several minutes. All-in-all I'm very happy with the performance, although there's the nagging doubt about whether all the images are transferred properly (they were!) and there's no way to confirm how many images or directories have been transferred once they're on there.

Comments about Wolverine 60GB FlashPac 7000, 7-in-1 Portable Data Storage Device:
I used this Wolverine Portable Data Storage Device on my honeymoon. I took so many pictures I ended up using it everynight to unload pictures off of my memory cards. It's light weight, easily fits in a camera case with my camera and charges pretty quickly. The only thing I didn't care for was it shutting off by itslef after the pictures were transfered from my SDHC to the Wolverine. This is because I went and did something else and when I came back it was off. This is a power save feature but I wasn't a 100% sure that the pictures were transfered. Great Product, I already suggested it to a co-worker who just ordered his own a few days ago for his trip.

Very dependable, excellent performance, excellent capacity. Not superfast but that's not a major factor. It does the job. The built-in card reader is very handy.
Comments about Wolverine 60GB FlashPac 7000, 7-in-1 Portable Data Storage Device:
I purchased this so that I don't need to dump photos to mylaptop while I am traveling. It works great. My camera usesCF cards and my wife's camera uses SD cards and I can backup photos from both cameras (which makes my wife very happybecause she has lost photos before when a memory card failed).I love how compact the FlashPac is. It fits in my camera bagand if I'm out shooting with just my camera, I put it on mybelt and can back up photos and then keep on shooting. It's been working great... so far, so good. I am concerned, like others have stated, about how the CF slot is. I am justcareful when inserting CF cards so I don't bend any pins. That design could have and should have been better.
Problems Encountered: No problems, so far, and hope I don't ever have any. Thanksto other reviews here, I was aware of ahead of time to becareful with the CF slot. As soon as I got mine, I tried theslot and was careful from the beginning. Knowing my luck, Iwould have bent pins as soon as I tried it had I not beenmade aware of the issue.

Comments about Wolverine 60GB FlashPac 7000, 7-in-1 Portable Data Storage Device:
I wanted to update my review below about the problems withxD cards. I contacted Wolverine Data via e-mail, where I hadthe good fortune to be connected to a very helpfulrepresentative by the name of Rico who directed me toinstall firmware upgrades from the website. When these didnot do the trick, I sent the unit to Wolverine, and it wasrepaired free of charge despite it being out of warranty, and returned to me within a week. Apparently it was a problem with the contacts in theFlashPac not contacting the strips on the xD card. Thiswas corrected, and the unit is working flawlessly now andreading all of my xD cards, as well as the CF and SD cards Iam using now.I am extremely happy with this wonderful customer service. After all, any equipment is only as good as the servicebehind it. I will buy another Wolverine product in aheartbeat based on this experience, which - to say the least- is uncommon is this day and age. Thank you, Wolverine Data!

Items I Recommend: AA battery charger for overseas travel. The adapter is a tad bulky.

This is a very nice gadget, but ONLY if you don't shoot withOlympus or Fuji cameras using xD cards. Yes, the device SAYSit is compatible, but read below....

Problems Encountered: At first, the device read my xD cards just fine, then oneday it simply decided not to read any more xD cards, period.Thank God I had the E 500 with me the first time thathappened and could transfer images in-camera from xD to CF,and insert the CF into the FlashPac for storage, or myvacation would have been ruined.Since that day, it has refused to read ANY xD card, and themessage card error appears each time I insert an xD cardand push the copy button. I use Sandisk, Olympus and Fuji 1GB xD cards, so it isn't cheap third-party products causingthis problem. It reads Memory Stick, SD and CF just fine. But no luck with xD.
Items I Recommend: Battery adapter
Comments about Wolverine 60GB FlashPac 7000, 7-in-1 Portable Data Storage Device:
Other than the issue pointed out in the problems encountered, this gadget totally satisfies my simple need for alternate photo storage without necessarily buying additional memory cards or lugging the bulky laptop. On the other hand, if you have $210 to spare it is far better to get the upscale model ESP because of the additional features of being able to review what were copied and its other multimedia capabilities.
Problems Encountered: The unit automatically turns off after downloading from memory card. Copying photos from a 2gb card takes a while so I leave the unit running and at times I totally forget checking the display. This annoyed me because I want to verify if the download is successful or not and how many total photos were copied.
Items I Recommend: Swiss Adaptor for international travels
Comments about Wolverine 60GB FlashPac 7000, 7-in-1 Portable Data Storage Device:
I'm using it for more than a year. It's great for me because it has all I need in such a device it's strong, and its simplicity only means less possibility of a damage. I have used it in all my photographic journeys in Latin America. Also, if I format it in fat 32 I use as a photographic storage device, but it's fast too; with its 6300 rpm, when I format it as ntfs, I use it as to download (by computer) my videos from my video camera via firewire.
