Worked well for a year and then stopped auto focusing. One of the spring loaded pins no loger has any spring to it. When it worked it was great, nice and sharp, but if it only lasts just a little past the warranty period it ain't a great deal is it? Now I gotta buy the Canon one, shoulda just bought that one to begin with.

This works on all of my Canon EF lenses (85mm, 24-105, 70-300, 100-400). On the 2 longer lenses, the autofocus works even zoomed out but only if there is enough light. If not, it will hunt.

It has a difficult time teaming up with the auto focus. It was constantly searching so I finally had to switch to manual focus. However once past that inconvenience I must admit that I was very surprised and pleased with the sharpness of my photos.

This is a great converter for the price. When shooting action shots the focus tends to be a little bit on the soft side, not extremely sharp. It is a great alternative to the more expensive Canon converter. For the price it has been a great addition to my camera equipment.

When I was to buy this Teleconverter I searched the Teleconverter of the Canon, but because of the price I decided to buy this Teleconverter TOP of line of the Kenko and not arrepedendo me at no moment. In the vacant hours I adore to leave to photograph with a group of photograph that I am part in Brazil here and my passion is to photograph people, then with mine tammy 70-200 2,8 + Teleplus 1.4x I am with 280mm in F4, a perfect opening to photograph people what he generates one very bokeh pretty without saying the DOF for in the distance focal used. In clear days this teleconverter he is wonderful therefore I can use high speeds of opturação obtaining to catch with precision the look, the feeling of the people without occurring any tremor in the photo. As I said above, I adore this to teleconverter and it would be perfect if I had with a Canon 70-200 2,8 IS therefore the image stabilization I help sufficiently in long focal distances. Autofocus perfectly functions in lenses Sigma, Tamron and Canon, since that you respect the compatibilities. It is not all lens that accepted teleconvertes, but is not a problem of the Kenko there and yes of the compatibility of the lens to accept TC or not. I am very happy with this Teleplus 1.4x, excellent purchase, was surprised.

Used this extender at the Knoxville Zoo with my 50D and 70-200 f/2.8L lens. Focused well and shots were sharp with good color and contrast. Am considering the 2x version also based on this little gem. Much cheaper than Canon's extender.

Comments about Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 DG Teleconverter for Canon EOS:
The teleconverter itself is great. Works perfectly with my 28-135 with IS on, and give extra power to a 57-300, taking away it's auto-focus - but that's expected.
The only cons I found so far were the weak casing and cheap caps. Although you can find more information about it on its website, it's not that user friendly. It could have some better information on the user manual as well.
But yes, if you want to travel light weight, it performs as advertised.

Bought to use with my 70-200mm f/4L IS on my 30D and I'm very happy with it. Image is very sharp and IS works just fine. What's nice is that it updates the EXIF data with the correct focal length and aperture. Mechanically it looks solid. As is the case with all 1.4x teleconverters, you must use it with an f/4 or brighter lens in order to get AF functionality. I think it's a very good value and would highly recommend it.

Works with all the lenses I currently own except the Sigma 10-20mm. It is compact and pretty light. Produces decent pic quality. The only slight down side is the mount isn't prefect, it feels tight putting it on, but still has a little wiggle room.

I was fustraited with my 2x converter for wild life photography because the focusing was soon shallow and I couldn't get focus before I lost the best shot, ( but great for landscape).
My friend and professional photographier suggested that I use a 1.4 converter, and WOW what a difference is was on my 70x300 is Canon IS lens. Just got back from the Smoky Mtns photographing Bears!

Comments about Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 DG Teleconverter for Canon EOS:
This is a great little device for those who can't afford to go with a longer lens. Its sharp wide open (which is an expected f/4.0 on my 70-200 2.8L) and performs as advertised. There is no noticeable slow down in autofocus, either. If you want longer reach from your telephotos, but can't afford to upgrade the whole lens, then you should consider this.

Comments about Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 DG Teleconverter for Canon EOS:
I mainly used it with the 70-200/4L IS and the 85/1.8. There's no loss of image quality with either, and focusing is just as fast and accurate as without the extender.
I did try it on the 28/1.8, mainly to increase the magnification ratio of that lens. It works, but it made the chromatic aberration of that lens even worse, especially when shot wide open.
Comments about Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 DG Teleconverter for Canon EOS:
Great extender for a little amount of money. Works very well with my 70-200 f/4L, and the autofocus was in low light much faster than I could imagine.... it really seemed that the combo was quicker to focus than the 70-200 f/4L itself! Quality is fine, and aperture 5.6 is alright...I think the Extender EF 1.4x II from Canon is a waste of money, the quality difference is so very little, and price difference too big. Well, the Canon is a Canon, and it has got weather sealing, so if you're for example using a 70-200 f/4L IS with 1D-series body, you want longer reach, then buy the Canon.
Problems Encountered: I haven't encountered problems with the item itself, the caps aren't nice... that's the only thing.
Items I Recommend: Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM
