For photographers on location or working solo in any environment, any version of the TriGrip proves itself worthy with the first usage. I've used it in the studio, at weddings, on location and in demonstrations, and have found few situations unsuitable for it. Coupled with an assistant, or held solo, the 'sunlite' side provides just enough golden kick to bring some warmth into the frame; the silver works more efficiently, with more direct/non-warm reflectance, which makes sense. Small size vs. the larger options/offerings from other brands allows it to be carried in/on a camera bag without worry. Takes a small amount of practice to collapse/stuff into the bag, and also to direct into the scene effectively, but this is typical of such clever gear.

Just received this reflector in the mail today. Nice carry bag and a very nice reflector in a convenient size with a convenient handle. That said, I spent a frustrating half hour trying to figure out how to collapse the darn thing to put it back in its bag. Finally had to go on the Lastolite web site and search for a video tutorial on how to fold the reflector. While they indeed have a very nice set of video tutorials on their site, this is no substitute for inserting a simple one-page instruction sheet in the bag along with the product. Surely this is not asking too much for a product that retails at a fairly substantial price. Good product, bad marketing!

You can totally use this by yourself and without an assistant.
It's size makes it very easy to use and hold.
The 'sunlite/soft silver' tone looks more natural than the straight gold/silver option.
Definitely recommended.

Comments about Lastolite TriGrip Reflector, Sunlite/Soft Silver - 30" (75cm):
This is a great product for making sunlit portraits of one or two people. It's too small for groups, but its compact size is a real advantage for photographers working alone with just one or two subjects. The grip is excellent. It's easy to hold, and is lightweight. The sunlite color is ideal for my tastes -- it adds just a touch of warmth (maybe 1/4 CTO), rather than the harsh orange of typical gold reflectors.

How do you hold a reflector and shoot at the same time? This is the best way. Use it close up to fill in shadows or as a beauty dish. Works great.

Comments about Lastolite TriGrip Reflector, Sunlite/Soft Silver - 30" (75cm):
Works as expected with ambient light. I used for a portrait shoot and it's ability to give me the light I need - well, I'm satisfied. The light is very soft, bright enough, with no harshness. The 30" size is big enough for one or two people, I'd want a larger one for groups or full bodies.
Some have said it's hard to figure out how to collapse this thing, but I had no trouble. Best to put the handle end on the ground, the large end against your knees, and then fold over both corners simultaneously toward the ground. It goes back in its case without any real hassle.
The grip works, but feels bulky to me. Minor quibble. I definitely prefer this to traditional discs for most of the type of shooting I do.
One time the springy border inside which gives it its shape did get twisted, but I twisted it back without issue.
Thumbs up, would buy more tri-grip products.

Comments about Lastolite TriGrip Reflector, Sunlite/Soft Silver - 30" (75cm):
Great on location or working by yourself. I use both in the studio and field. I love the Sunlight side and use that most of the time. I have started to twist it like a potato chip and cut the light in just were its needed. It stays in the camera bag when not in use so I never leave without it.

I use it for portrait with one wireless flash. I put my camera on a tripod and this way I have free hand to move the reflector the way I want it. The grip is perfect.
It also useful in outdoor photography I use it for macro and portrait.
What I like is that it fit in my bag, easy to fold, light and the grip made it easy to work.

I loved taking it out of its cover. It just popped right open. Great lighting effects. The handle grip is very useful. Tricky at first to fit back into the bag, but once you get the hang of it, it's a snap. Convenient size.
