I was shooting my first outdoor wedding this past weekend and it was a nice sunny day. The diffuser helped get some great shots of the bride and groom without shadows and bright light all over them.

Great for portraiture especially as a solo shooter. I can actually hand-hold it while shooting (for short periods and assuming no great wind of course) because its size gives me lots of reach. The one stop diffusion cuts the perfect amount of light for me. The only con I've found so far is that it's not as simple to twist closed as all of my other Lastolite produces (simpy due to its size).

This size TriGrip is great if you can keep it OPEN all the time. Trying to fold it up is a joke. Trying to follow Mark Cleghorn's video on it is a joke. You could and can learn how to fold this thing given enough practice. I don't have that kind of time.

I only gave this 4 stars because it did not come with instructions on how to fold it. My husband and I are both engineers and we fiddled with it for at least an hour trying to fold the darn thing back up. We finally found a video on their website that described how to do it, but by that point we were totally frustrated. I highly recommend watching the video before opening the product!

I use this when shooting more than one person. It works great. It is larger than my others so wind could be a bit of a problem.

Very nice for hand holding. Superb quality. The only thing missing is an explanation on how to fold it back. But there are lots of online videos showing how to do it

This thing works great, just make sure you are not using it in high wind as it is a sail. Thing is huge and is probably easier to use with an assistant than using it yourself.

I've bought several of these in the past, and I use all of them regular and, sometimes, all at once, at the same time. They do a wonderful job diffusing the sunlight in a very uniform manner (no hotspots on the subject) and are also great for shooting speedlights or strobes through if you don't have a softbox with you. Lastolite makes great products, and I buy from them whenever possible.

This diffuser is very versatile and transportable. The grip makes it much easier to hold than most other diffusers.

Durable and easy to hold with the built in handle.
However this is too big to hold with one hand and shoot with the other, get the 30" for that.
This is big enough to put one person in shade or 2~3 people head and shoulders

Works well to soften, diffuse & slightly reduce light on the subject(s). Folds up nice & compact with a convenient & sturdy carry case. The 48" is a large panel so you won't be able to hold it & shoot, you will definitely need an assistant. I wanted this larger 48" version for shoots with 2-3 people and it will cover enough area. I also place it in front of speedlights to soften them up & works great

I'm a fan of Lastolite products. This TriGrip diffuser doesn't disappoint. It is a must have if you do outside portrait photography. If I had one criticism, it is that it doesn't come with directions on how to re-fold it. I didn't pay attention and so it took me a few tries to figure it out the first time. If you pay attention to how it is folded when you unfold it the first time, you should be able to avoid my mistake.

We took this and the 33" version out on two shoots right after we received them and they are just awesome! I definitely recommend these diffusers if you are doing any kind of outside portraits or maybe macro. I will never go on another shoot without these. Also works nice diffusing a speedlight while on location too.

The handle is the selling point for this. The circular ones are unwieldy.
