Great filter!! I purchased this for a 12-24mm Tokina. I decided to go with a clear over a UV for my new wide lens because I wanted to see if I would get more natural colors. I won't be able to tell unless I order a UV filter to use on the same lens... but compared to the pictures on 50mm prime which has a UV filter, the colors seem to be slightly more crisp.
As far as the build quality goes... You can definitely tell the difference between this filter and the over priced cheapo plastic Quantaray and Tiffen filters. I also have a B+W filter and while they both are high quality glass, the construction of the metal ring looks a not more solid on the Hoya.
I also found the Hoya to cost significantly less. Overall, I'm very happy with Hoya and will probably buy it as my filter of choice.

Great product, you need this to protect your lens, it saved me a 70-200 VR that got smash on the corner or a door once, the filter have crack but the lens was intact, without it I worry the glass could have been damaged

Bought this to protect my Canon EF-S 10-22mm, does the job well, and most importantly no vignetting @10mm. Recommended!

The only filter I could find for my Tokina 11-16mm that was thin enough to be used with a wide angle lens, but still allowed the lens cap to snap over the filter. Look no further. No noticeable image quality degradation in my opinion.

Quality built. Low profile, yet accepts stock lens caps without contacting glass/damaging filter coatings.
I purchased this for indoor use/lens protection, but will probably stick with the Hoya UV Pro 1, for the added benefit outdoors.

Found this to be good insurance. So far no issues. Knurled edge makes it easy to remove/install. Factory cap goes on to small lip, stays put. Decided not to instal UV filter, read sensors have UV protection built in.
