I am mainly a still photographer, new to video. That said, this remote is an improvement on the wireless remote and has many good features. A good investment. The exposure compensation ring works only so so but the other features are useful and worked well.

This is well worth the money, it is a great controller and works perfectly with my HF-S200, to the camera is limited to not utilize all the controllers functions, mainly iris control. I am pleased I bought this rather than a cheaper one. I may be getting another one of these for another camera rig.

We bought 2 of these when we bought 2 Canon XL-2 camcorders and are very disappointed to find that the focus and AE-shift controls do not work with the XL-2. We have an older Varizoom LanC controller that DOES focus the XL2's.

Tripod mounted on pan handle makes operating the XHA1 camera easy. Unit can focus the camera in manual (Focus Wheel on the side of unit)and/or use the Instant Auto-Focus button to get perfect focus every time. Can switch between manual and auto focus control with a push of a switch. Zoom control works great with many speeds to choose from. The "On Screen" display button removes the on-screen info on an external monitor only. Used with a jib/tripod this is a needed tool.

This thing is amazing. I bought the Canon XL-H1a and this controls almost every feature I could think of. A lot of people were saying in other reviews about the cable not being long enough. The cable is plenty long. I have the spider brace and did a cooking show with this it was awesome! Prefect for tripods. I do wish that they gave you longer screws but still another amazing product by Canon.

good product. but, it would have been nice to be able to remove the display information from the lcd. unfortunately, unlike the camera, the button is not included on the remote.
