The Samsung HL-S5679W offers the sharpest and clearest images available form both HD and regular TV. Despite its gargantuan 56" display the HL-S5679W is surprisingly thin at only 15.3" deep, and to help diminish the usual clutter the HL-S5679W has 2 built-in "hidden" speakers.

The HL-S5679W's DLP chip is amongst the fastest in any HDTV, with millions of mirrors switching on & off 15,000 times a second to deliver ultra-sharp picture for fast moving images. When combined with Samsung's LED, which replaces arc lamp & color wheels and creates beautiful color with a superior 20,000 hour life. A contrast ratio of 10,000:1 provides blacker blacks, sharper whites and vibrant colors. The HL-S5679W's precise, sharp picture and fast process speeds make this screen ideal for sports, fast action shows, movies and gaming.

• ATSC/QAM Integrated Tuner: If you live close enough to the broadcast transmission towers serving your city, a simple indoor or outdoor antenna will facilitate over the air reception of digital broadcasts from your local television stations using the ATSC/QAM integrated tuner.

• DNIe: Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) is a four-stage process that improves the picture. The Noise Reducer, Contrast Enhancer, Detail Enhancer and Color Optimizer all work together to tickle the sweet spots of the human vision system for eye-popping vividness.

• Cinema Smooth 3:2 Film Mode with 1080p Light Engine and LED (Light Emitting Diode) Color: Cinema Smooth Film Mode 3:2 pull-down uses special circuitry to eliminate visible motion artifacts. The Cinema Smooth 1080p Light Engine creates an image with no visible pixel structure, accurate shading and better low-light detail. Samsung's LED replaces arc lamp & color wheel and creates beautiful color with a superior 20,000 hour life, improved color and is more environmentally friendly.

• CableCARD: Helping to declutter your home entertainment center, this TV is Digital Cable Ready (DCR). If you are a cable subscriber using a set-top box you can request a CableCARD from your provider. The CableCARD is inserted into the TV's rear panel CableCARD slot. After standard or high-definition service is activated with your cable TV company, the decoding smart card eliminates any need for the cable box.

• Parental Control (V-Chip Technology): Parents! You can prevent your children from viewing programs which might be inappropriate with the help of V-Chip technology. Use password protection to block or allow shows based on the American or Canadian ratings system.

• High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI): A single cable carries both high-quality digital audio and video. HDMI is the only interface that can deliver uncompressed high-definition video plus multichannel audio in all formats.

• Two Component Video Inputs: See the quality you paid for. These inputs are for analog high-definition from your cable or satellite box, as well as DVD or other standard-definition devices. YPbPr component connections achieve greater color accuracy than composite and S-Video when connecting to compatible devices such as 480p DVD players and 480i video game consoles.
