The TDK DVM-63HDP 63 Minute High Definition DV Video Cassette is a Pro Grade DVC tape made to work with your HDV and DV camcorders. It uses evaporated DLME (Dual Layer Metal Evaporation) recording materials and HCPL (Hard Carbon Protective Layer) protects against scratches, friction, de-oxidation, and the temperature and humidity extremes.

Designed to the highest standards for professionals the Pro Grade DVC delivers certifiably better performance than standard grade DVC media.
The dual layer, 100% cobalt metal evaporated DLME (Dual Layer Metal Evaporation) recording material increases signal output while reducing noise. The ultra-low noise floor guarantees maximum signal integrity for perfect recording and playback performance.
The HCPL (Hard Carbon Protective Layer) protects against scratches, friction, de-oxidation, and the temperature and humidity extremes that are common in the field. The cartridge's heat resistant shell and antistatic lid further ensure absolute dependability.
Format Mini DV

Comments about TDK DVM-63HDP DV Video Cassette:

I use this tape exclusively for almost 2 years with Canon HV10. No single dropped frame yet. I do not know how good it would be for archiving, but for shooting I do not need anything better.
