I use this LCD Screen Loupe to view my images on my D80 in bright daylight. Does not distort or change the color of your image. Does not magnify your image. Works as advertised. Comes with a case that clips to your bag our belt. Includes a strap to hang around your neck.

This loupe is ingenious. Use it anytime you need your camera's LCD screen to review and edit while shooting on location. Revolutionary for shooting outdoors, especially in sunny conditions. The focus mechanism is fine. Build quality is very good. Suggested improvements would be a more durable and reliable lanyard and an optional elliptical eyecup to better shield against sunlight. I solved both issues with gaffer tape.

I do use the loupe, but am not sure why this is so expensive. The specs claim a 2x magnification, but i don't see it. As a matter of fact, I'd be happy with a hollow tube with a rubber base to seal off light. The extra "lens" is only another thing to clean. The lanyard that came with it, was nothing more than a piece of plastic that broke as I was trying to tighten it. I just checked and it's discontinued, so I'm not sure this will even be seen. Oh well... Does it block out the light? Yes. Is it worth the price...Not even close.

Love this loupe. Not sure how I lived without it. Perfect for location use when you aren't using a laptop to proof. But be forewarned: it's not weather or water resistant! Moisture got into the interior and spotted the lens elements on the inside where I could not clean it. Had to purchase a new one. This is a big draw-back for me. In addition, the glue on the rubber eyecup failed to hold. And I wish the neckstrap attached better.

This knocks out all sunlight and reflections. The flip out styles work but not nearly as well. This is simple with no lids to close between shots and you can review only the shots you want to.
Comes with a small strap, wear it around your neck.
Try it, you'll like it.

I use it in bright, sunny conditions when you cannot see the LCD screen.

It blocks out bright light and enlarges the screen for an excellent, clear view of your LCD. By magnifying the LCD, you won't necessarily need to zoom in using buttons on your camera.

I did not care for the rubber band-like neck strap. It arrived un-attached to the loop, and a tiny round ring used to tighten the band around the loop, had fallen off and was impossible to put back on.

It's cumbersome hand holding the camera and hood loop at the same time. Would be nice if the loop could "hold" on to the LCD, for hands-free use.

Build quality is ok, but I'd expect better considering the high price.

Its the only way to view your camera's LCD in bright sun. I use reading glasses and like this product's ability to focus the screen so I don't have to fish for my glasses.

I use this loupe when shooting photos outside in bright light. It saves me time since I can tell right away if a photo is a keeper. Before my vision was impaired by the bright light and I would have to wait until I got back to the computer to see if I had gotten the photo right.

When it's sunny outside, it's really hard to see if your picture is properly expose but with this hoodman you can clealy see if you need to over or under expose your shots. One of the best camera accesories if you work alot outdoors.

When I bought this item I was thinking that I will see the image on the LCD larger. This loupe will help you to eliminate the light around the LCD and help you see the image better. This loupe will not give you magnification of the image.

As an Event Photographer... I find this loupe to be an important part of my gear. When shooting outdoors (like I did at a recent concert), the loupe effectively shields out sunlight to allow proper viewing of your image. Currently I am using the Canon 40D... The loupe is the exact screen size for this camera... as well as others.

In spite of excessive price, this does the job of letting me view the image on my D300 LCD in the brightest sun. HOWEVER, within a few hours of receiving this it fell lightly on the floor, and rings and lenses were scattered everywhere. Although I was able to put it all back together, it took some figuring, and I was able to see how flimsy the ring that holds the lenses in place actually is. I'll use it for as long as it lasts, but I'm really waiting for someone to manufacture a better one. This is a great opportunity for some other company to make a very useful product.

I had held off on buying this item for a while, because I felt that the cost was excessive for the product. I finally broke down and gave it a try. I do a lot of shooting on bright days, and am not always satisfied to judge a dim LCD photo by the histogram alone. I find the Hoodman Loupe to be a great help outdoors during the day, and I would recommend this product.
