The Gary Fong P1 Lightsphere II Inverted Dome Flash Diffusion System (Clear) - for Select Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Quantaray, Sigma & Sunpak Flash Units is a large, round, soft and flexible diffuser that slips over the front of compatible flash units. The inside of the Lightsphere is completely textured to make the light dispersion even more "soft" than it would be otherwise. And because of this design, it is possible to make the material more translucent, keeping the unit from losing a lot of light while actually increasing the diffusion and softness of light.
The included inverted dome allows you to softly diffuse direct light with a large, soft source without creating flare on the front of your lens. This clear version is ideal for fast action, large groups and dimly lit scenes.

After purchasing this product I was able to use my speedlight on my camera without worrying about getting a bracket for portrait (style) photography. This produces the most even light possible with a speedlight. I have a nikon sb-800 and sb-600, it fits both like a glove. Also, if you have the included diffuser box that comes with the sb-800 then you know when you put it on that you are stuck at a zoom of 28 or 14mm. I've gotten way better outcomes with the GF Diffuser Dome and I have the whole range of zoom available by the sb-800 and sb-600. I usually use it with the speedlight pointing straight up (with the inverted dome attached); this has given me the most even light possible with the GF Diffuser Dome attached. For those that use the Nikon CLS system (have more than one 800 or 600 and use them wirelessly) it is a great idea to use this while taking studio photography or outside, posed, portraits. I only have the clear system and have not tried the cloudy system. If you intend to use your speedlights for studio photography I would suggests the cloudy system as it would give you a more soft light than the clear. The clear helps me get the shots I want while taking wedding or event photography. Overall, I Highly Recommend this product. Yes, this is a very optimistic review and that is because this product actually works as it says. Word of caution: Make sure you get the one that fits your speedlight. Don't just look for a GF diffuser dome and buy it. You must look at the select brands and specific speedlights that it will fit. It is not a one-size-fits-all system, which is one reason it makes it look professional.

Comments about Gary Fong P1 Lightsphere II Inverted Dome Flash Diffusion System (Clear) - for Select Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Quantaray, Sigma & Sunpak Flash Units:
The bottom part that fits on the flash unit has rubber grips, this has kept it from falling off when using the bounce of the flash or from going from portrait to landscape layout. This is a great feature and I highly recommend this for this particular flash unit. The previous one I had from the same manufacturer had to be tightened to the flash with a rubber band and velcro strips, it continuously fell off. This product is GREAT!

I got my first one for my sb-600 and it is not clear as picture, mine was yellowish, returned it to BH, got a second one, same thing.
I like the product but I wish the shown picture was as the product I received or vice-verse.

I picked this up after seeing some wedding photographers using one. It does a great job diffusing the light and evenly lighting the subject. Great addition to a small flash kit for really nice results.
Only issue is keeping it from falling off when using it heavily. Might need to get creative with some velcro.

This is by far the best on camera diffuser I have used. The different materials of the additional 'domes' come in handy & are very useful.

Great diffuser, quick mount, simple to store, and gets the job done! This is a true high quality diffuser, not the cheaper ones that fold up and mount with velcro - so it certainly looks high quality when on the flash shooting for a client or wedding. [@]

I recently used the light sphere to shoot a weeding and it really helped. Great for vertical shots, made a huge difference compared to just using the flash by itself.

Used the product for an outdoor wedding & reception under a tent.It worked very well when under the tent.Good color, exposures, killed shadows very well.
In the open air settings it did OK, slower recharge times & ate batteries faster than I thought it should.

very useful for portraits and/or candid shots in dark rooms because is does light up the whole room. the unfortunate thing is that it drains your batteries quickly but if you have a battery pack for your speedlite its not an issue. i do recomend it to everyone especially those who have no other gear but a camera and speedlite. this diffuser will greatly improve all your exposures.

Comments about Gary Fong P1 Lightsphere II Inverted Dome Flash Diffusion System (Clear) - for Select Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Quantaray, Sigma & Sunpak Flash Units:
I've always had issues with lighting and the Lightsphere Dome solved 90% of my issues!! I usually take pictures of people and the results look so natural and soft!! The dome is easy to use, but is a little bulky. I think it's worth it though! It allows even light throughout the shot. The only thing I would say that wasn't so great is that when I angled my flash, the weight of the dome would take it out of the angle. Other than that, I would highly recommend this product!

Great for run-and-gun shooting, candids at any kind of event, or any other situation where you may need some extra light quick!
Since using this diffuser, I don't want to use my flash without it. If I'm in low light, indoors, and don't have time to setup a lightstand and umbrella, this is my go-to. It's a lifesaver for any photojournalist or event photographer. Works perfectly with TTL metering and gels (filters). Adds a little bulk to your camera bag, but well worth it unless you know for sure you're only going to be shooting outdoors with plenty of light.

This works. It is well constructed of thick, flexible seems like a vinyl-type plastic. It works better than any diffuser I've used before, but it isn't perfect. I haven't figured out how to make it work with Nikon's iTTL. And that is what Fong recommends, so it may get better. If you haven't used a diffuser with your flash, the difference is dramatic.

Works as advertised. I bought this from reading some reviews on BH website and I must say it works very well indeed. Recently used it at wedding, results were execellent indoors and out.
Also used it shooting Senior pics outdoors, gives nice soft lighting. You will have to experiment with it to get the proper flash output level with your flash but that is minor. The included DVD was very helpful, tells how to use it in different siuations. It mounts easy to my SB 600, stays on tight, won't move an inch. When I first used it and someone saw it on flash they kind of smirked and laughed, "what the hell is that" Then I showed them the results and they were impressed indeed!!
