Comments about Lowel Ego Fluorescent 2 Light Kit (120V):
We are using this to do photos of jewelry, pottery, etc. for web sales and magazine articles and ads. Assembly takes about 30 minutes, and is not straight-forward, even for this mechanical engineer. The layered sides have to be opened like a very stiff pita pocket and plastic guides require a lot of force to open up. Scoring for both was not deep enough so everything felt close to breaking. For the price, I believe the design could have been more elegant. One of the lights "shorts" out and is difficult to keep on. An additional light was required to get the background to truly drop out. I had to replace the white paper background supplied with higher quality super-white. All in all a very good conceptual design, but this feels more like a prototype than a final product. We did get some great photos, and I now have it set up in a permanent location so all is well. When I look at other products out there, I see weaknesses in all in the price category, so perhaps I am expecting too much for a low volume product.

Comments about Lowel Ego Fluorescent 2 Light Kit (120V):
This is a well thought out kit. The two lights (4 bulbs in total) with the diffuser, and backdrop do provide a great high key source for images.
I tend to shoot at F11-F16 here and with this light I use a tripod go get that extra sharpness, and the images are impressive.
The colored backdrops in the kit will prove purposeful in the future as I shoot other related products.
No cons - For the money, you get a great light source for small items, and it does what it says. I couldn't think of anything I would change on this.
Comments about Lowel Ego Fluorescent 2 Light Kit (120V):
Great for product photography. Although not for talleritems. The lights are perfect for a non-photographer to geta great shot with a great digital camera! I recommend the 2 lamp kit, one is good but two is better!(With one lamp you may have to brighten levels inphotoshop). Thesweep paper is construction paper and the corrugated plasticstand is easily made yourself. But for this price, those arepretty much free. All in all this is a great product andmyself and my art are happy we found it! A simple lightingsystem that gives your work justice!!

Comments about Lowel Ego Fluorescent 2 Light Kit (120V):
Great idea, really well executed. It may not be obvious (at least it wasn't to me), but each Ego light fixture uses two compact fluorescent bulbs. Effectively, each Ego fixture puts out around 200 Watts of light. The bulbs that came with my kit are 27 Watt rated, have a CRI of 92+, and have a color temperature of 5500 K (slightly differs from product description). These items may not be available in Europe, as the bulbs contain Mercury. Hopefully, Lowel will source bulbs containing no hazardous materials in the future.
