I am using several of these jam nuts to make my own macro lenses using my now somewhat obsolete enlarger lenses. Enlarger lenses DO work as macro lenses when properly distanced from the imaging sensor of new digital SLR cameras. These jam nuts fit most enlarger lenses, and are strong enough to hold the lenses in a horizontal position, as opposed to the usual vertical arrangement.
