I purchased this bag because I was hoping it fit two cameras and some lenses with a little space to spare. I was not not disappointed when it arrived.
I am able to get (comfortably I might add)my D300 with MB-D10 and Sigma 24-70mm lens attached, D50 Body, SB800, Tamron 90mm, Nikon 50mm 1.8 and my Nikon 18-55mm in the main compartment. I have space for one more lens as well.
In the top accessory compartment I have my Battery Charger and Cord, Camera Strap (free with this bag), Sigma Lens hood, Tamron Lens Hood, USB Cord, CST Strobe Trigger and D50 Body Cap.
In the front accessory compartment I have Camera and Flash Manuels, Business Cards, 2 Compact Flash Cards and Micro Fiber Cloth.
With all the equipment loaded, you are probably thinkging that it must be a tight fit... NOPE!!! I have room for a another lens up top and other accessories in the front.
You are also probably thinking. Man this bag must be huge... NOPE!!! It is about the same hight as the 200AW but only about a inch and a half wider.
Possibly the best thing about this bag is the fact that it is very comfortable. The weight of the equipment is evenly distributed and the use of the sling is very practical.
I give it a 5* because for me it is much more than I expected. Extemely well made and designed. You cannot go wrong with this bag if you intend on carrying a lot of equipment. For that purpose, I highly recommend the Slingshot 300AW

This is a decent bag with plenty of space for all your stuff, but this also can be its downfall. I can fit a 70-200 2.8, 60 mm 2.8 a 30d with battery grip and affixed 28-70 2.8 and 580 ex, and a meter. There's also enough room up top for a few other extras! Everything has its place and stays were it belongs. The bag does a great job of protecting everything. If you use the bag for storage and for small trips, i.e you can drive to your shoot and only have to go a short distance, then the pack is great. And if you travel lighter than i do, then having this bag on your shoulder then its even great.
But as i stated before, you can fit a lot of things into this bag. And thats were i had a problem. My equipment ends up weighing about 10+ pounds, and since all the weight is on one shoulder, it can become very uncomfortable after only a few minutes.
Apart from this being really the only problem with the bag its great. The construction is solid and seems well made. If you carry a compact slr, and lighter equipment then this bag is sure to please.

Very well built and extrememly functional.
Easily holds my Canon T1i with optional battery grip and 100-400 lens attached.
Plenty of room for other lenses and accessories.
Much more comfortable to me than a backpack (two strap) design.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 300 AW Camera Bag:
I only gave it one star because I had to, it does not deserve a star. I bought this thinking it would be a good travel bag because you do not have to take it off to get to your equipment. Well I was really wrong.
It was heavy when loaded, so awkward is it my arm would go numb waiting in lines at the airport. When you use it in the field and you have your camera around your neck you have to take off both your camera and the bag to access equipment.
The only reason I wanted to get back home from my trip at Joshua Tree Park to see the spring flowers was to dump this bag.
I would suspect all sling bags to be this way not just Lowepro. I have gone back to my trusty shoulder bag.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 300 AW Camera Bag:
If you are looking for a pack you can travel with and take a good amount of gear this is a nice choice. This will easily fit in airline overheads and if needed under the seat of larger planes.
I just outfitted mine, and in my case I am taking a 28-135mm zoom and a 70-200mm zoom. I needed this size bag (the 200AW will not handle the 70-200mm attached to body) to get everything I wanted in the bag. I will end up carrying my fairly heavy tripod, but really did not find any solution for the tripod problem. If you had a small travel tripod I am sure you could configure a way for it to work.
I have in my back the following: Camera & lens attached, one extra lens (it will hold more depending on your needs), 4 filters, 5 CF cards, 2 extra batteries, battery charger, 1.4x extender, camera manual, several plastic zip locks for added gear protection. With all this it still leave me enough room to toss in a very light jacket and/or travel documents.
On this bag I especially like the weather cover provided I can tell it will be quite useful.
If there is any draw back it is the size. I find it a bit large and cumbesome when "slinging" it to the frot to access the camera, but since I wanted something to handle the bigger lens this was teh best option. The sling strap is well padded and this back has nice padded hip waist straps that make it quite stable when walking around.

Love the thought of this bag when I ordered it. Unfortunately, I didnt get to use it till a month after I ordered it and found out it was uncomfortable and hurt my back.(when completely filled with all my gear)[...] but its great if you are going light.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 300 AW Camera Bag:
The NOT SO good: Not a true hiking bag because it only has 1 shoulder strap.
The NOT good: No way to attach a monopod or light-weight tripod. It appears that the 302 Slingshot might have taken care of this issue.
The "easy access compartment" is too large for my usage as it is as wide as the compartment cover. Needs ability to put padded dividers there to allow more equipment to be stored, too much empty space.
The GOOD: For short walks as in zoo visits this is the bag to have.
Am carrying 2 camera bodies with lens attached, 1 camcorder, 3 lens, with an small slot available for small accessories. The small slot would be taken up when I get the 70-200 lens...

If you are using a DSLR with a 70-200 zoom lens this is the bag for you! I carry my Sony A350 with a Tamron 70-200 zoom attached. 1 Sony A330 body, two extra lens', sony Flash and lots of odds and ends. There is still room for more. The "Slingshot" feature makes it very easy to access you gear without putting your bag on the ground.

I have to say I went back and forth between a few bags for a few weeks. I chose this one after reading a review that someone pointed out that you have to put this bag on backwards. I tried this out at a store and did not think it felt nice to wear, and it was because I wore it wrong. It holds a good amount of stuff and is easy to use!

I have done a lot of research before buying this bag and have found some bags that were similar but nothing that has the same great versatility and comfort as this one. The sling design keeps the bag on your shoulders and the built-in waist strap comes in handy for a all day expedition. The best part is the price, cant beat it. completely satisfied.

My wife and I are not only interested in photography, but are also avid cyclists. The Lowepro 300AW is large enough to accommodate all of my equipment, but is very stable when on my bike because of the built in waist straps/pads.
I've truly like the ability to swing the pack to the front and have instant access to my camera when interesting subjects are identified.

I will repeat it again...This is NOT a good bag! You will regret buying this bag once you use it. It is NOT comfortable having only one sling strap. You will only feel the comfort if it's empty. Do yourself a favor and get a regular two strap backpack.

I also have a 200 AW but I was surprised how much bigger the 300 is. The top pocket is great for photographic oddments or snacks when hiking. When fully loaded it is not as comfortable as the 200 but is great on shorter walks or longer walks if not fully loaded. The easy access offsets the slight discomfort and I am really pleased with this bag.

Comments about Lowepro SlingShot 300 AW Camera Bag:
I am an amateur photographer and over the years have upgraded the amount of equipment I carry. I have been though one shoulder bag, one fanny pack, one backpack, and the SlingShot 200AW. I normally carry a DSLR, a 70-200mm 2.8 IS zoom, as well as a wide angle zoom, a flash, 1.4 extender, and a few other accessories. Since the purchase of the Slingshot 300, I don't have to remove the 70-200mm lens in order to store the camera in the pack like I did before with the SS 200. I find space is not a limitation anymore, just my desire to carry anything heavier. It's a great pack to have gear readily accessible and is a motivation to get that camera out and not miss the "opportunity". It really is that simple to get to your gear.
Certainly not as comfortable as a normal backpack, but great for city trips and for medium hikes. If you tend to carry a lot of equipment, most likely you'll find the single strap a bit of a strain on the shoulder.
