The 1.5TB FireWireVR External Hard Drive Array from CalDigit delivers a fail-safe storage solution. As configured, the array offers an impressive 1.5TB of storage spread across two 750GB drives, both of which are hot swappable. The array features FireWire-800, FireWire-400 and USB 2.0 connectivity.
The array can be configured in several configurations, including RAID 0 for maximum performance, RAID 1 for data mirroring or as JBOD allowing you to access each hard drive as a separate volume. The drive can handle multiple streams of video when configured as RAID 0. These features and more make the array a great solution for your large data storage needs.
Triple Interface
The array can be connected via FireWire-800, FireWire-400, or USB 2.0. This gives you extreme flexibility in connecting it to your computer system.
RAID Flexibility
The array can be configured as a RAID 0 which delivers maximum performance or as RAID 1 for data mirroring, protecting your data in case of a drive failure. You also have the option of configuring the array in a JBOD format, which lets you access each physical drive individually. This gives you extreme flexibility in how you configure your array, ensuring that it meets your specific needs.
1.5TB Capacity
1.5TB of capacity allows for storage of approximately 112.5 hours of uncompressed DV digital video, the equivalent of 319 4.7GB DVD-Video discs or up to 375,000 MP3 files.
Video Playback
The array delivers enough throughput to play back multiple streams of 8- or 10-bit uncompressed video simultaneously in real time. It can also play back multiple streams of DVCPRO HD, HDV or DV video in real time.
Hot-Swappable Drives
The hard drives are hot swappable, allowing constant operation while equipment is being replaced.
Compact Design
The compact desktop design allows you to easily implement the array into your work environment.
