The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 Digital Camera captures high resolution images at up to 8.1 Megapixels. It also includes a superb quality Carl Zeiss 15X optical zoom lens. It is powered by the Bionz processing engine, first used in Sony's Alpha digital SLR camera system, to speed up response times and deliver fast image processing speeds.
The DSC-H7 is also equipped with Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization to help minimize blur caused by camera shake, an important feature when shooting at slow shutter speeds at full zoom. The high sensitivity of the camera (up to ISO3200) further helps to reduce blur resulting from fast-moving subjects and will also help preserve the mood of your pictures by capturing well-exposed, natural-looking photos, even in challenging low-light conditions.
The cameras' Advanced Sports Mode with high shutter speed is perfect for crisp long shots and for capturing precise detail when shooting at sporting events. Intelligent continuous auto-focusing means that the camera can quickly focus on fast-moving subjects by predicting where those subjects will be in the frame.
The camera also has Sony's Face Detection technology that brings out the best in faces and the impressive NightShot technology that allows you to take photographs in environments with virtually no light. You can also manually control the exposure and focus of the DSC-H7, making it ideal for more artistic shots.
The DSC-H7 camera has a large 2.5-inch LCD screen for easy sharing and viewing, and it incorporate selectable in-camera editing functions so you can spend more time in the field and less time behind a computer.
Other helpful in-camera functions include red-eye correction and photo retouching effects with filters. You can also create fun and artistic photos with up to four filter selections, such as the partial color filter that can highlight your star athlete in color while the background of the photo is in black-and-white.
The DSC-H7 is also well suited to displaying your images since it is equipped with a HD (high definition) output. Now photos can look even more spectacular when you share them with friends and family on an HDTV screen. Simply connect them to your HDTV with the Sony VMC-MHC1 high-definition component cable (sold separately), and turn your photo viewing into an entertainment experience.

The product is amazing. Its clarity, zoom, flash are too good.
I feel at times the camera takes time too long to click photos in quick succession.
Overall it is a great product, I love sony.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 Digital Camera (Black):
I bought this camera a month ago. I have purchased and used 4 other Sony digital cameras, but this time I wanted to step it up a bit. I wanted a bit more quality and features, but didn't want the size and price of a DSLR. I recently tried a Fuji camera rather then Sony, but it turned out poor photos. I then switched back to Sony with the H7 and it is very nice. I went with the H7 over the H9 because it is the same camera minus the movable LCD and the night vision (No need for fuzzy green shots here), and also minus the extra $$. I use it about 3 times a week, and most often in low light situations. It takes great photos on all settings. I mostly use the auto without flash. Of course you need a steady hand when not using the flash, but this is expected. It definitely out performs all of my previous digital cameras. It has nice features like being able to shoot in standard or wide screen. The burst feature in most modes is also nice. Burst mode shoots full photos, not chopped up or lower quality shots, like some other cameras and models. You can't really go wrong. I am curious as to how well the H3 matches up to the H7 and H9. I have taken over 1000 shots with this camera already.
Expertise: Uber-consumer... not pro
Problems Encountered: The only thing I don't like is the charging methods. Older Sony's could be charged with an a/c adapter. The newer models require the battery to be removed. It is not nearly as nice, but probably saves space and money on design by Sony.

Howdy all, its darellbear here, and i would like to say that the sony dsc-h7 sounds to be the right camera for this photographic guy. i live up in the Great bear rainforest b.c.s west coast , where the wildlife photos are great, as well as the awesome super natural scenery . so the dsc-h7 seems to have all the right stuff for this kind of area, not to mention the great video package that works in the dsc-h7. so now to find a great price for a great camera...will let you know more on the sony dsc-h7 when i get to physically test it out.....so stay tuned for the pictures and reviews after i get my dsc-h7. for thoughs that already do ...congratulations on picking a great digital camera...SONY
