The Samsung Digimax GX-10 SLR Digital Camera produces images with 10.2 megapixels of resolution for a more detailed image, while image sharpness is almost guaranteed thanks to the built-in Optical Picture Stabilization (OPS) technology. Meanwhile, taking photos is made easier with the high-magnification PentaPrism viewfinder that provides a clear, wide field of view for optimum shooting. The Digimax GX-10 also has a wide view 2.5" TFT color LCD so you can review and confirm the quality and composition of your images.
The camera incorporates a number of premium features that cater to both the professional photographer and photo enthusiast. The one-touch RAW button makes RAW file shooting simple and instantly available to users even during general JPEG shooting. The RAW files can be checked on the LCD and then be directly converted to JPEG format via the built-in converter for convenience. The camera has a continuous shooting capability of 3 fps (frames per second)and can capture as many JPEG files as the installed memory card can record. Up to nine RAW files can be shot at the same speed, giving the user the best chance to get a great picture. Furthermore, The Digimax GX-10 has been designed to let the photographer customize and take control of his or her camera with the My Set Dial option. This feature allows you to personalize your dial settings by choosing your most frequently used functions for ultimate ease of use.
All of this great image quality serves no purpose if you cannot use your camera because of poor weather conditions, so the Digimax GX-10 is also equipped with special water-resistant and anti-dust sealing for taking quality pictures in even wet, sandy, or dusty conditions. Furthermore, the advanced dust removal function included in the Digimax GX-10 removes potentially problematic dust from the CCD automatically when the camera is booted, resulting in perfect blemish-free pictures. A further dust barrier is provided by the special coating on the CCD protective filter.

Comments about Samsung Digimax GX-10 Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens:
Samsung GX-10 is a very good budget DSLR camera that is almost identical to Pentax K10D but costs less. In fact, the lenses (as I've heard) are manufactured at a Pentax plant but are labelled with a Samsung logo. I paid the same amount of money for a double-kit GX-10 that a single-lense K10D would cost.
What you get is a fully-functional (sometimes, even more than more expensive and popular cameras), solidly-built, versatile camera that comes in a dust-water-resistant body and can take any Pentax/Samsung lenses as well. The weight, they say, might also be considered a plus.
The only minus I can find now is that the shutter sometimes locks at close-ups.

Comments about Samsung Digimax GX-10 Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens:
I came from using a full-manual Pentax K1000 and have always been disappointed with P&S cameras. This gives me back all the control and a whole lot more! The only thing that bothers me so far is the requirement to use noise reduction when taking night shots. There are far too many hot pixels to disable the noise reduction for astrophotography or light trails. With the noise reduction on, the pictures are nearly flawless however.

Comments about Samsung Digimax GX-10 Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens:
I got my GX-10 about a month ago and I am very pleased with it overall. It has solid construction, feels tough and durable. Easy to learn to use and great image stabilization. Like that it uses battery pack and not separate batteries that you have to buy over and over. Kit lens is good quality and the battery lasts a very long time IMO. Wonderful features and great image quality. A tad noise at ISO 400 or above, but acceptable up to 800. Fun camera in general. You won't be disappointed.

I have encountered no problems with this camera yet, though I am just a student photographer and am not as sensitive about my camera...
Comments about Samsung Digimax GX-10 Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens:
Purchased this camera several weeks ago from B&H and I could not be more pleased. As many probably know, this Samsung model is essentially the rebranded version of the Pentax K10D as is the included lens. Samsung sought to launch a prototype Digital SLR and sought out Pentax with whom to collaborate. There are some minor cosmetic/menu differences between the GX-10 and the Pentax but, essentially, they are the same...with the GX-10 reflecting a $150-$200 savings (depending on where you buy). The variety of Semi-Pro/pro features of this camera are not to be believed....just google the model and you can read for yourself. If Samsung can follow this model up with another high-end kit, I will be buying it.Shipping and service from B&H was (as always), flawless....the price is darn good too.
Expertise: Advanced Amature
Problems Encountered: JPEGS are somewhat soft as other reviews have indicated but that is often a matter of taste and can be corrected in the cameras settings. RAW format is dedicated to the ADOBE DNG format which, IMHO is a plus.I do wish there were more Samsung-Branded lenses out there but, Pentax, Sigma and Tamron all make lenses that work great on this camera.
