This Sony HDMI to Mini HDMI Cable is for use with their line of camcorders that feature the mini HDMI (type C) socket. This cable is HDMI 1.3 high-speed (Category 2) compliant, and is capable of transmitting up to speeds of 10.2 Gb/s.
HDMI provides an interface between many compatible digital audio/video sources, such as a set-top box, a DVD player, a video game system such as the PlayStation 3, or an A/V receiver and compatible digital audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (HDTV). It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.

I can't really give this 5-stars, as it performs as advertised.The connections are solid (plating, end connector). A little pricey, but doesn't fail to deliver.

This cable works (all the way up to 1080p60). I bought 4 cables from other online retailers (none of which worked without artifacts) before finally settling on this for my HDR-XR550V camcorder. I even took my camcorder back thinking maybe it was the camera because so many of the cheaper cables didn't work. In any case, don't waste your time with non Sony branded cable for your Sony camcorder, and B&H has the best price on this cable. I will still buy the cheaper regular HDMI cables for Xbox/PS3/blu-ray, etc .. but will not advise to do so on these mini cables. Save your time and postage returning cheaper cables.

I purchased this cable for use with my Sony HandyCam HDR-XR500V. Works just as expected and B&H had the best price I could find. Playback on my 1080p DLP projection Samsung is stunning. Only flaw is the price, but all HDMI cables are over-priced in my opinion.

I paid a few dollars more for this cable than the generic cables that are available, but in this case it appears to be worth it. Other reviewers complain that the mini-HDMI connector on the generic cables fits poorly into the Sony camcorders. I have a Sony HDR-XR520 and this cable fits perfectly and the signal works great. Exactly what I expected.
