Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
I am finding the Wolverine extremely useful. I've been able to load ALL my music collection, and am now gradually putting all the KEEPERS from my huge photo collection on it-- I believe there will be enough room for all this. Although the built in speaker is feeble, it makes a great MP3 player when teamed up with portable powered speakers or a pair of reasonable headphones. It also makes a good photo viewer, with a bigger screen than a digital camera. It is easy to work on with Windows Explorer, and easy to operate as a player/viewer. You can even delete or move files around without connecting to a computer. The radio is good. The battery life is acceptable, though it does take a long time to recharge. It may be old technology (2006?) but it suits me just fine.

Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
I bought this for having a standalone backup to my cards when I'm not able to take or use a laptop. It does download my cards, but that's it...
It will backup RAW, but the preview is blurry, so the only thing you can use the screen for is to check what you have on there. The price doesn't justify that. The menu also looks bad.
I wish I spent a bit more and went for an Epson, or spent half the price for a unit without the useless screen.

Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
I purchased the wolverine mainly for the purpose of backing up photo files and having a quick view for instant feedback. After a short time the the joystick calasped and I lost all functions that the joystick operates. It was always carried in a well padded photo bag. I put in my photo bag after a shoot and pulled it out to upload my files and I notice the joystick. So it is now a gloried card reader and storage device.
It is quite expensive to have the joystick repaired, so I am contemplating buying a new storage device or the repair.
The screen is bright and sharp enough, it is quite easy to use. The radio has never worked for me but I didn't buy for the radio.
If wolverine redesigns the joystick to be more durable, i wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
I use it mostly to back up CF cards on location. It is fairly easy to use. Wish the product would have come with the updated OS. Sometimes the menu is less than intuitive and I have never found a place whetre the "radio" works.

Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
Used the storage and player to back up my photos during a recent trip to China.
It is pretty easy to back up the drives and it automatically makes new directories for you. The LCD screen is useful to see how the photos look.
Battery life is very short, making me have to keep it plugged in most of the time. It is pretty slow backing up the files, even with fast memory cards.

Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
I bought this product for solely for photos and I'm happy. The quality of image viewing is good and the download speed is great and the manipulation is solid. Was easy to set and use, took about 10 minutes to become proficent.
Music capacity is very good, ear phones aren't great but most people have their own.
Joystick is tricky to get the hang of. Leather case they market stinks don't buy it (hard to operate anything while case is on, and it comes with a canvas one that is just fine).
Very happy with product.

I purchased this product to back up my memory cards in the field and beyond that is the icing. So far so good and I am getting the hang of its use. I have plans to use it in an even larger fashion to display folders to potential clients.

Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
I purchased this product both for media storage and review. I do a lot of photography when I travel and I was particularly interested in the card slots for direct transfer of photos, which works excellently. I also wanted to put mp4 movies on the device which works, but am struggling with the right file formats, etc. Once you get the movie file loaded it works well. As a DVR to record off the TV or DVD, the sound is less crisp than I would have liked, but it is certainly good enough to enjoy the video. The FM radio works fairly well, the earphone wire acts as the antenna, so it won't receive without use of the earphones. I have not done much with the music files yet, but expect to have no trouble with them.
Comments about Wolverine ESP 160GB Portable Multimedia Storage and Player:
This one of the coolest media device ever devised! But more than that, it is stuffed with not just some features, but the best of everything! If you like the radio its got it. A wide range of FM stations and an FM recorder which you can set to record what and whenever you want. Or another feature is the digital video recorder records straight to the Wolverine with the optional ESP Cradle System really worth the money. It of course has the usual music, photo and video playing capabilities just like any other mp3 player except for three things. First is its unmatched storage capacity up to 250 GB. Its out of this world! The second thing is managing the filesunlike other mp3s you can make as many folders and sub-folders as you want on the computer, just like a computer. Lastly there is no need to back it up (recommended though) because its portable storage device and you can load and delete onboard the Wolverine with complete control. Some other great features are a built in 7 in 1 Media Card Reader Writer, a TV out, portable storage, onboard computer organizing and much more!!! This is an amazing item for a photographer as well as the average media enthusiastic. This buy is definitely worth the money!!
Expertise: Amateur Photographer
Problems Encountered: The only problems I found are really just might be personal annoyances. When you turn it on after syncing with the computer, it has re-register all it info from the last sync. As a result it takes a little longer to turn on, livable though. Also compared to the iPod it isnt quite as sharp and a little grainy as a result of its large screen. But its still pretty clear. One last point I find it easier to control the music features on the IPod rather than on the Wolverines. But all in all these things dont really have any major effect on the Wolverine and I highly encourage everyone to by one.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: IPod 30gb (5gen.)
Items I Recommend: Wolverine ESP Cradle System
