Giottos SP8300 AEGIS Professional Glass Optic Screen Protector - 12 Layer Anti-Reflective Coating for 3.0" LCD Screens
Most LCD screen protectors fall into one of two main categories; the plastic stick-on sheet or the flip-up housing. Stick-on sheets are prone to peeling off, bubbling, and have no positive optical qualities while LCD hoods or screen covers add bulk and are cumbersome while only minimally preserving the LCD image.
The Giotto AEGIS Glass Screen Protectors are very different in as much as they protect the screen with ultra-high quality Schott German glass while preserving the optical properties of the LCD's display. The Schott glass protection is only 0.5mm in width and adds no significant weight or bulk to the camera body. Most importantly, the glass layer protects the screen from impact, chemical damage and scratches which can mar a LCD viewing screen. It affixes to a LCD screen with a thin layer of 3M brand double-sided tape which prevents the risk of air bubbles forming under the glass. An added bonus is that the screen is removable and replaceable if it gets scratched or damaged.
AEGIS 80 Series protectors also feature multi-coatings that lower reflections, withstands UV light, and enhances the overall image display. Both sides of the glass are coated with 12 layers of Anti-Reflective (AR) coating that provide an outstanding 98% transmission of light in the 420~680 nm range.

I just put one of these on my new XSi/450D. It is optically excellent; seems to almost improve the LCD image. I feel great about the security of protecting the LCD from scratches, and even from noseprints! The glass of this protector is just one of like 12 laminated layers, the combination of which enhances strength and optical clarity.
On the XSi/450D, however, there is a size issue. The protector has a black border that obscures the outer perimeter. In my case, I still get the screen's whole image side to side, minus maybe .5mm, but up/down I lose maybe 2.5mm. It turns out OK though. The screen is taller than the aspect ratio of the camera's sensor, so that top stripe of the LCD never has image on it, just camera info. So I installed the protector all the way to the bottom, slightly cropping the top text. This does not serioulsly impair its readability, and in fact it's all visible under the border when when viewed from a slight angle.
This is the generic 3" Giottos protector, as they don't have one (yet?) for my camera model. If you get one specific to your camera model, I doubt this issue occurs.

I purchased the SP8300 AEGIS Professional Glass Optic Screen Protector - 12 Layer Anti-Reflective Coating for 3.0" LCD Screens by Giottos, for my new Canon 60D.
There is no degradation in picture quality big plus! Easy to install!
Vertically it is a perfect match but horizontally it is too narrow and the black boarder covers a small amount of the screen.
The other con is the LED screen doesn't close all the way once the screen protector is on.
if you can live with the reduction in real estate on the LCD screen its a great product.

Relatively inexpensive added protection for your LCD screen that would cost much more to replace if broken. The look and fit is awesome and, unless you know it's been placed on the camera, you'd never actually notice it. It looks like OEM equipment. Enhances viewability is bright light conditions without affecting clarity at all in any condition.

So far, excellent. Very thin glass and, unless you specifically know it's there, you'd think it's the just the stock lcd display. Doesn't affect display or camera appearance in any negative way. In fact, it has actually improved viewability in very bright light. Nice contrast and clarity. This is a purchase I'd make again. Although a little pricier than other options, I feel it's well worth the extra insurance against accidental damage to the lcd and much cheaper than actually having to replace the lcd itself.

This screen protector is worth its price. It is so clear that I can't tell I have a screen protector on my Canon S95 and it seems very durable. With it on, I don't worry about cleaning the LCD off when it gets smeared nor do I worry about grit scratching the screen when I use the camera outdoors in a dusty desert environment. I would definitely recommend this for an S95.

This screen protector is easy to apply and easy to clean. As a protector for the Sony CyberShot HX100v this was my best, trouble free option. I guess the boneheads at Sony do not see accessories as a profitable endeavor. I have a similar screen protestor on my Sony A700. The Giottos are worth every penny.

The SP8300 is a very close fit to the Fujifilm X100 LCD. There is no masking of the display and no overhangs to snag. It is easy to apply and adheres without any surface interface artifacts (e.g. bubbles/voids) to interfere with the displayed image. It is best applied with a pinching motion to hold the screen just off the LCD at one edge of the display. That way you can position the screen very close to the LCD, adjusting the position by relaxing some of the tension as needed. When in position just relax the closed edge until contact is made.
Optically, the screen performs just as described. The coatings are excellent and so far durable.
I bought this to protect the LCD from my shirt buttons because when traveling I use the default camera strap and just carry this light camera around my neck. That positions it just about right to hit my shirt buttons. The AEGIS screen provides the protection I need, when my hands are full doing other things. After miles of walking, the camera does a lot of swinging and the AEGIS does the job intended.

This screen protector is a thin piece of optically clear glass with special coatings. Adheres to L.E.D. via two-way tape. Since it is glass, its durable and easy to clean. This particular size fits the Canon 7D perfectly.
