The Canon PowerShot A560 Digital Camera has been designed with ease of use firmly in mind. At the same time it also produces superb image quality with a recording resolution of up to 7.1 megapixels and a 4x Optical Zoom lens.

A wide range of shooting modes cover most family and social situations, allowing users to shoot without having to worry about camera settings. Shooting is simplified even further by placing the most commonly used Special Scene modes right onto the camera's Shooting Mode dial. The DIGIC III image processor offers impressive response times and also powers Canons unique Face Detection and Noise Reduction Technologies, making it easier for users to capture sharp, well-exposed images in any shooting situation.

The camera also features a versatile movie mode that records for VGA & QVGA quality clips with audio and two special recording modes - Fast Frame Rate mode and Compact Movie Mode. The 2.5" LCD screen size makes it easy to view and share your photos right on the camera. It is conveniently powered by AA batteries, with impressive battery life. All of these features are incorporated into a compact and affordable camera that is a pleasure to take along.

7.1 Megapixel Resolution
The PowerShot A560 provides 7.1 megapixels of resolution, giving you the ability to capture superb detail and real-life color resulting in beautiful prints with excellent sharpness and clarity at print sizes of over 16x20". The high resolution also means that even if you crop your image, your prints will still be breathtakingly beautiful.
Canon 4x Optical Zoom Lens
The 4x Optical Zoom lens is made to Canon's demanding specifications, and is capable of shooting close-ups, group shots or scenery. The addition of the 4x digital zoom yields a total zoom of 16x and provides the ability to really single out details from a distance.
DIGIC III Processor with Face Detection AF/AE
Delivering fast, responsive camera performance and superb image rendering, the DIGIC III processor also drives Canon's landmark Face Detection technology. Face Detection AF/AE ensures accurate and bright people shots by automatically detecting faces in a scene and optimizing focus and exposure accordingly, and because the technology is hardware-based, it operates at the same rapid speed as Canon's standard AiAF. Furthermore, the processor incorporates iSAPS scene-recognition technology using an internal database of thousands of different photos to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.
High ISO to Reduce Image Blur and Expand Low-light Shooting
The PowerShot A560 features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater flexibility for shooting.
16:9 Widescreen Mode
It includes a 16:9 widescreen option that lets you shoot still photos and movies in a format that's specially made for viewing on widescreen television sets or your computer monitor.
Flexible Movie Modes Including VGA and Fast Frame Rate
The highly flexible movie mode provides movie capture capability that can be customized to your needs. Select from VGA (640x480) and QVGA (320x240) resolution, with frame rates of 30 fps or 15 fps, or choose the Fast Frame Rate mode to record extremely smooth, full-motion movie clips in QVGA at 60 fps for up to 1 minute long. Furthermore, the Compact Movie Mode (160x120) records at 15 fps for up to 3 minutes, and is ideal for internet and e-mail applications.
Intuitive Mode Dial and Comfortable Grip
Simply turn the Mode Dial to the needed setting to handle any shooting condition. Choose from Auto, Manual, Movie, or Special Scene where you can select from settings such as Night, Snow, Indoor, Beach and more to get the best possible image. The easy to hold extended grip of the camera means that you'll always feel secure in your shooting.
2.5" LCD Display
The PowerShot A560 incorporates a 2.5-inch LCD screen with 115,000 pixels of resolution, making shooting and playback bright and clear. Plus, the Night Display feature provides for easy viewing in low light.
In-Camera Red-Eye Correction
The Red-eye Correction feature automatically detects and corrects instances of red-eye - making your pictures look more professional, however, if Red-eye is present and is not automatically detected, it can easily be corrected manually during playback mode right in the camera.
USB 2.0 Interface
Equipped with a High Speed USB 2.0 interface, the PowerShot A560 provides the fastest possible data transfer speeds when using a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed compatible computer.
Powered By AA-size Batteries
The camera uses common AA-size batteries that can be purchased at any store so you don't need to worry about running out of batteries or recharging batteries - simply get new ones locally. You can also use economical NiMH Rechargeable AA batteries.
Easy, Flexible Direct Printing Options
The camera supports direct printing using the Canon Direct Print system or the PictBridge system, so you can print without a computer on many different brands and models of printers. The Direct Print feature also allows for image preview and editing (including cropping) on the camera before you begin printing, so your printed pictures are exactly what you need. Also, the Print/Share button is an easy way to transfer images directly to a computer when the camera is connected via the USB cable.

Very good camera for the price!

Comments about Canon PowerShot A560 Digital Camera:

Picked up this camera as a go in you pocket anywhere point-n-shoot. Very pleased with performance and image quality. 2.5 viewfinder is bright and easy to see even outdoors. Camera starts up quickly and can shoot 3 FPS. Video quality is pretty good also. I recommend shooting on manual mode, -2/3 exp. AWB, Vivid color setting. Face detection works surprisingly well for a camera this inexpensive. Have recommended to three friends who actually purchased this camera. All are very happy with the A560. Hard to beat a camera like this at under $140. Would give this camera 5 stars across the board if it had IS.

Expertise: Advanced amature

Problems Encountered: If you need IS, step up to the A570. Keep extra batteries on hand...this camera can chew through them quickly if you are shooting lots of flash. Flash causes camera to be slow to cycle (slow between shots).

Great Value

Comments about Canon PowerShot A560 Digital Camera:

I got this camera because I needed something small fortravel that took good pictures. Overall I found the picturequality to very good after I had adjusted the compression tofine. Of course it doesn't quite stack up to my Canon RebelXT but it does fit in my pocket. The video capability isalso reasonable. For features, this is my first experiencewith face recognition software and I was surprised on howwell it worked. The camera does a quite a bit of lag timein shooting and between pictures but for most shots thisisn't a problem.
