International orders*SE-Electronics takes a unique approach in the design of their flagship tube microphone, the Gemini II. Gemini II is designed for crucial capturing of vocals and instruments in professional recording applications and features a unique dual tube design. The SE-Electronics twin triode valves feature a 12AX7 (ECC83) and 12AU7 (ECC82) tubes that provide pristine warmth and detail at the input and output stages of the microphone.
The Gemini II maintains a low noise floor, minimizing the "room noise" associated with most tube microphones. The capsule houses a large diaphragm cardioid element that features a wide 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response. The cardioid polar pattern is flexible for most applications as it rejects ambiance and noise at the off-axis sections of the capsule. The Gemini II uses an external Power Supply Unit (PSU) and an 8-pin screw-on terminal ensures a secure connection from the microphone to the PSU. A generous 13 foot (4.2 meter) cable is supplied for flexible placement and a heavy duty, wooden storage case is also supplied.

Comments about sE Electronics Gemini Dual II Tube Microphone:
It's big and it delivers. This is always a go to mic for vocals in my studio. Other mics include Neumann U87ai, Blue Kiwi, Shure KSM44s, and a Rode K2. They are all fantastic mics with individual character. The Gemini has been the best fit for a lot of vocalists. It has warmth, a sweet top end, and it just sounds right. Background noise is almost non-existent and it shares a spot with the best mics for this.
The mic is big and heavy, so make sure your stand is up to the task with a counterweight if you are using a boom. Impressive to stand in front of, and impressive results. A favorite in my collection.
