Comments about Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm and 40-150mm Zuiko Digital Lens:
My only complaint about this camera is that sometimes it appears to have a hard time focusing to take the picture. Other than that, i have had a great time experimenting with this and taking good quality photographs. It is a great deal for the low price.

Comments about Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm and 40-150mm Zuiko Digital Lens:
We're basic users who were looking for a entry level DSLR camera. It's very responsive and has taken great pictures at sporting events.
We haven't even started figuring out all the various features, but we're able to quickly take it out of the box, hook up the lense and start shooting great, high quality pictures. We especially like having two different lenses to use.

Covers most photographic applications
Comments about Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm and 40-150mm Zuiko Digital Lens:
I know the E-410 is promoted as an entry level DSLR, but Ibought this two lens kit for use mainly in streetphotography and outside architecture shots. It's reallysmall and lightweight, and much easier to carry around onthe street than my Nikon D70s. I love my Nikon, but the E410is much more stealthy on the street and people don't seemto notice it as much as my larger DSLR.Features I likeThe INFO screen make it really easy to change settings onthe fly.I wanted to do a lot of Black&white work with this cameraand the built-in Monotone mode with Yellow, Orange, Red andGreen filters is nice. Most times I can get the shotin-camera without conversion in Photoshop, but I still shootat the highest quality JPEG mode + RAW in case I want totweak in post processing. The E410 has a cool metering feature in that you can shootin multi-pattern or Center weighted mode, but you can setthe Auto Exposure Lock button to use Spot metering. This isuseful and makes for fast metering options.. Of course youcan set full time metering to Spot as well as multi and center. With two lenses and a price well below some digital compactsthe E410 is a real bargain.
Expertise: Enthusiast
Problems Encountered: Noisy above ISO 400, and the default noise filters make forsofter images, Shoot low ISO and turn down or off Noisereduction stuff.I use an external Olympus FL-36 flash that i bought for aprevious Olympus. On the E410 it makes the camera a bitunwieldy because of the small body. If you plan to useexternal flash a lot, you may be better off with the E510,which is larger and adds in-camera shake reduction.I wish SIGMA made a four-thirds mount for their 10-20mmlens. The closest equivalent Olympus lens is really tooexpensive for me.

Comments about Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm and 40-150mm Zuiko Digital Lens:
I recently bought this to replace my aging Sony DSC-F707Camera, to get a bit closer to pro quality and to up mypixel count to the 10 Meg range. So far I am very pleased with this camera, and both lenses, although in my opinion the 14-42 is the better of the twolenses. The pictures this camera takes are outstanding andthe camera works flawlessly in all of the auto modes. Ireally only need to acclimate myself to full manual and Iwill be in full auto mode myself. The autofocus system works pretty fast, although I think itcould be even faster. Not having a tremendous amount ofexposure time with other systems, I cannot say whether it isany better or worse than other cameras. The metering systemon the very odd occasion does not give perfect results, but98% of the time gets you a completely workable photo. The 4/3 system is the same format used by my Sony DSC-F707,and also matches the digital medium better than the 2/3 format.
Expertise: Part time professional - 30 years advanced amateur + pro experience
Problems Encountered: The grip is small for large hands. I have easily accustomedmyself to this, so it's not a big deal, but it could be abit better. This is one of the main reasons I did not give 5stars for design. The viewfinder LCD info area could be a bit more comprehensive. These are not really problems, just a wish list for betterergonomics. One real problem for me is that the Olympus RAW format isnot directly readable by Photoshop. This would not be sobad, but the Olympus Master software is slow at convertingthese to other formats, and I have not yet discovered a wayto batch process RAW files into some other format whichPhotoshop will read natively.
Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Sony DSC-F707
Items I Recommend: Extra battery (get the Impact replacement and save some cash), 2 GB compact flash & xD cards (get one of each), RM-1 remote, One of the FL-xx flash units if you're doing portraiture (I also recommend the Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens for this work)
