Fujifilm FinePix S700 Digital Camera
The Fujifilm FinePix S700 Digital Camera is a compact SLR-style digital camera that is feature-packed, yet affordable and easy to use. It captures a resolution of 7.1 megapixels for superb image quality and is equipped with a powerful 10x optical zoom lens providing an equivalent focal length of 38-380mm in 35mm terms.
The Camera also includes Fujifilm's Picture Stabilization technology which suppresses camera shake and blur caused by subject movement. It does this by utilizing the high ISO and fast shutter speed capability of the S700 Digital Camera.
Other features of the Fujifilm S700 include dual media slots, assuring compatibility with a wide variety of computer based gadgets and media players. It also has versatile camera settings including P/A/S/M exposure modes, auto and manual focus control, eight white balance modes (including a custom hold mode), and a six-mode popup flash.
Furthermore, with a 2.5" LCD display and a high quality electronic viewfinder the S700 makes it easy to frame your shots, and review your images.

- The 7.1 megapixel CCD image sensor provides high resolution images so you'll be able to produce photo quality prints at sizes up to 16x20 inches, or crop images while maintaining an astounding level of detail.
- 10x Fujinon Lens
- The Fujinon 10X optical zoom lens provides a 35mm focal range equivalent of 38mm - 380mm and helps to bring your subject closer with superb clarity, while the impressive Super Macro capability permits a minimum focus as close as 0.4" (1cm) . In addition, the camera is equipped with a 4.8x digital zoom, combined with the optical zoom provides an incredible 48x total zoom range for capturing even the smallest details of your subject.

- Taking advantage of the cameras ISO 1600 sensitivity and high shutter speeds provided by Fujifilm's latest LSI Chip, the Picture Stabilization feature automatically uses professional photographic techniques to help reduce camera shake, freeze subject movement and improve low light background detail, for the highest quality digital pictures.

- Fujifilm's i-Flash system ensures your image is always properly exposed with just the right amount of light, resulting in more natural looking subjects and backgrounds that are bright and full of crisp detail. - The FinePix S700 features 14 pre-programmed scene modes that offer a one-touch setting for almost any situation, including Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Museum, Party, Flower, or Text.
- Dual Shot Mode
- The dual shot mode is ideal in those situations where you are not sure if the picture would be better with or without the use of the flash. In this mode, the camera will take two pictures with one press of the shutter button; one with flash, to capture a bright, vivid image, and the other without flash, to capture the natural ambience of the shot - and then saves both images. This convenient function lets the user perform a comparison at their convenience and select the most pleasing image.
- TV-quality Video Recording
- The FinePix S700 includes a VGA Quality Movie mode that captures at a rate of 30 fps with sound, so you can use your compact digital still camera to produce broadcast quality video clips.
- 2.5" LCD Display and Electronic Viewfinder
- The FinePix S700 features both a large, 2.5" LCD Display, and an Electronic Viewfinder using a 0 .24" LCD. Both offer a fast refresh rate, and a resolution of 230,000 pixels for a more natural looking, brilliantly bright and detailed view of your image while framing or playing back your image.
- Dual Media Slot and Built-in Memory
- The Finepix S700 includes 27MB of Built-in memory so you'll be able to begin shooting, right out of the box. Bought this camera while on vacation and it was a joy to use. I started shooting almost right out of the box and it is really easy to use. The picture quality is also excellent and the settings are very easy to learn in just a short time. The use of AA batteries is also good because it's easy to get replacements in a pinch.

This camera takes nice pictures, the 10x lens makes it possible to get good wildlife pictures. I got a nice picture of a spider sized white crab on the beach and pelicans, The camera is very capable of any shot.
I will leave my pocket nikon home next time because this camera is light and not that obvious.
If you read the mamual it will take sunsets. I used all the options and erased the failures. Joys of digital.

The actual camera is a great value -- has a bunch of great features and manual control for a low price. HOWEVER with in 72 hours of buying it, the mode dial broke off. B&H gave me a whole new replacement camera the very next day w/ no trouble, but I was slightly turned off! This camera really is wonderful though, and its best quality is its value.

Has this S700 for about 2 weeks now. Very easy to use.Manual very helpful. Pictures come out great. Like all modes in the S700. Would recommend this S700 to anyone.
Problems Encountered: Standard Batteries drain fast. Need NiMH 2500mhrechargeable batteries.
