## Summary
This is the best home theater projector you can get for the money, IMHO.
## Details
Assuming your home theater is nice and dark, this projector is pretty kickin'. The contrast ratio is great. The resolution is great. The screen-door effect isn't bad - unnoticeable on a 100" screen from 12 feet away.
Out-of-the-box it doesn't render very dark scenes well, but if you calibrate your video source and projector properly, you won't loose any picture during dark scenes. (Mine looks great on every scene.)
It also has a variety of video inputs. I didn't think I would care, but I've ended up using all of them at one point or another.
## Other features
I love the 16:9 aspect ratio.
I love the dynamic focal length lens. (I can throw almost any image size at any distance. It's very adjustable and will work in both small and large rooms.)
I love the 'cinema' setting. Using that and a soft-focus gives everything a nice film-like quality.
## Conclusion
If you're looking for a budget projector for a home theater, this and the AW15 are amazing projectors for the price. I wasn't able to find their equal in this price range - not even close.

I have gone through 2 bulbs in just a year!! I am getting this strange "clicking" sound. Doesn't seem to be the bulb, because sometimes it turns on, but a new bulb does fix it. I have tried to contact sony support to fix it but they are no help and just tell me to buy a new bulb!

Comments about Sony VPL-AW10 Bravia Hometheater Widescreen:
I bought this because I wanted to watch movies on a big screen, but didn't want a huge TV always sitting in my living room. This is very easy to set up so on Friday and Saturday night when my family wants to watch a movie we get it out and set on the coffee table, drop the screen, connect the DVD and viola! To adjust the image size and focus the picture is just like using a zoom lens on a camera. It's also almost silent. It's also less expensive than some large screen TVs.
Sometimes when a movie is very light the texture of our screen and LCD panel can make a faint grid pattern in the very light areas of the picture, but it's not too distracting. I noticed it on one film when we first got. I was being very critical because if the picture was bad I was going to return it. Obviously I'm keeping it.

wonderful picture, easy to use, the only negative I could say is that its alittle hard to get it to fit perfect on my screen, it seems as its always alittle off, either alittle too small or alittle to big, but its a minor issue to me compare to the picture. It also turns on very quick, my old optima projector would take minutes to turn on, the sony is on in seconds, and I can actually watch tv without closing all the drapes in the house.

If you want to watch movies at home, this is your projector. Perfect colours, almost no noise and very nice contrast. I'm a brazilian journalist and write about movies.
Only one litle complain: the tamp to cover lens is fixed in the focus ring. When you put, and after take out, you loose the correct focus, and need to correct again. The Sony could correct it at new version, for example using a kind of window or litle door to protect the lens.

Initially I was thinking for Panasonic AX200U but b'cos of budget constraint finally landed on Sony AW10 and now I feel I took the right decision. Absolutly great performer. Crystel clear picture even though I'm projecting on the wall and it is goog even if it is not fully dark room. Easy to handle and really its worth to money. I'm really happy with my AW10 and enjoying watching movies on that. Getting real theatre effect. Absolutly Great !!

Comments about Sony VPL-AW10 Bravia Hometheater Widescreen:
After using the AW10 projector for a week I have to say it is a really solid unit. Easy to set up and get going, multiple connection options, great picture and despite the unit being pretty big it operates very quietly. Using primarily for business presentations in conference room and so far it hasn't disappointed. Currently projecting on a white wall and not having any issues; I think a screen would be best, but it is bright enough to display on a wall alone.
Comments about Sony VPL-AW10 Bravia Hometheater Widescreen:
This is my first front projector, and I must say that I am completely satisfied. I bought a screen to go with it, but I don't need it. It looks great on the wall. I can use it with all the windows open and still enjoy a movie. No more heavy tvs to move ever again!
Problems Encountered: Menu needs manual to learn what everything is. Little legs should be a lot more adjustable.
