The VXpocket v2 from Digigram is a sound card for laptops equipped with a 32-bit PCMCIA/Type II PC Card interface, and offers the ability to perform serious audio production and analysis in a portable solution. The card provides excellent audio quality, plus compatibility with the most popular applications running under Mac OS using Core Audio, Windows using WAVE or ASIO, and Linux using the ALSA standard.
The sound card provides two inputs and two outputs with full duplex operation. An included breakout cable terminates in four XLR connectors for analog I/O, while a pair of RCA coaxial connectors allow for stereo S/PDIF functioning. The two analog inputs can be set for either microphone or line level operation. However, the card does not provide phantom power for use with condenser microphones, with phantom power needing to be provided for other sources.
The cable also provides the card with an LTC SMPTE time-code input (RCA phono) and a headphone output via a mini stereo connector.
