The Vinten PRO-06-HDVM tripod system is a combination of a Pozi-loc tripod, Pro-06 Pan and Tilt head, mid-level spreader and soft carry case. This system was designed to work with small camcorders weighing less than 13.2 lbs. Offering continuously variable fluid drag, exceptional rigidity and a fully adjustable spreader; this system allows the user great functionality in a matched system.
- Quick Setup
- The leveling bowl has a double threaded screw shank, which allows the bowl lock to be tightened and released quickly. Very handy when you are constantly adjusting the bowl to level the camera (especially on uneven terrain).

- Built-in illuminated bubble for horizontal leveling, ensuring easy leveling even under unfavorable lighting conditions.

I bought this for my (Sony Z7u) personal gear based on my experience with Vinten's pro line. I have used it for local PBS news shows, documentary film, corporate video production, and broadcast commercial shoots. It can get you 2' off the ground or up to 5' 6". It is extremely quick on setup and release. The balance is spot on. Vinten did a great job with the counterbalance for smaller cameras. The leg locks release and lock with a quarter turn for extremely quick setup and teardown. If you spend a few minutes with the drags you can get whatever resistance suits you. Drawbacks: if you are used to small flimsy tripods this one will seem heavy (but it is really durable) and you can't get it higher than 6'. These are minor when you consider the versatility and value of this tripod. I thought I spent too much when I bought it, but every time I use there is no doubt that it was worth it.

If you like battling with getting the camera on the tripod for a good 2-3 minutes when setting up, this is perfect for you! It has quick release, but I'm very disappointed how long it takes to get in and settled. It is also stiff!

I work at a major market Fox station, but I bought this tripod for my personal rig. I am using it with my JVC GY-HD110U. This tripod has all the same features and quality of the Vinten tripods that I have used througout my career with full sized broadcast cameras...but weighted perfectly for my JVC-ProHD camera. The folks at Vinten did a great job of not only balancing this tripod perfectly for my lighter HD camera rig, but scaling the pricing appropriately to match. This tripod performs and feels just like the heavier models costing 5x more. This is a great tripod that will allow you to get rock solid, extremely smooth moves at full zoom with your lightweight HD camera. The quick release plate works great, and is a very nice touch as well. Buy with confidence.
