Screw this wide angle adapter onto your camcorder's lens and notice the dramatic difference in the view. The Panasonic VWW4307HPPK 0.7x Wide Angle Conversion Lens is a 43mm adapter lens that allows you to capture everything in the room. Wide angle lens adapters provide you with a full view, as opposed to the limited view of your camcorder's standard lens. And, converter lenses are much more cost effective.

Comments about Panasonic VWW4307HPPK 0.7x Wide Angle Conversion Lens (43 mm):
I have both a Panasonic AGHMC 40 and the older AGHMC 70 which both use this wide angle lens. I can not complain about the picture quality at all. It opens up the shot with no visible distortion. It's great for closed in areas and small rooms. It's completely zoom through. I actually purchased another wide angle lens and was forced to return it because it wasn't and lost focus while zooming. If you're looking at another model of wide angle lens for the Panasonic camcorders then forget it.
The issues I see with this lens are it doesn't have threads for a filter. When I film outside any wide angle lens picks up lots of dust and water drops. That means I have to regularly wipe the lens off. I'd rather have a filter and wipe it off instead. Secondly any wide angle lens will flare in the sun. That's a second issue that could be solved with threads for a filter so a polarizer could be used.
Now with the AGHMC-70 the lens works like a charm. The lens actually fits perfectly inside the lens hood. When the camera is viewed it's nearly impossible to tell the camera didn't come like that from the factory. In my opinion it should have. Zooming is perfect just a wider field of view so it's easier to work in tighter spaces.
Now for the AGHMC-40 it's a different story. The lens still works but, the lens hood has to be removed. The lens is just sitting out there in the wide open without a hood to pick up dust and water drops and to flare in the sun. I've called Cavision to try to get a lens hood that will fit and couldn't before I ordered the lens because there isn't any info on the outside diameter of the lens. I had to buy it and measure it then hope they have one that will fit it. I'm uncertain that they do.
In a nutshell it's not perfect but, it's the only real choice for these camera models.
If you film inside with the HMC-40 it'll work.
Of course if you film inside the HMC-40 isn't the best camera anyway. The HMC-70 is a little better. If you're filming outside with the HMC-40 and hope to use this lens I suggest saving your money and purchasing another camcorder with a wider field of view.

how i use the product. - i use the Wide Angle on every thing i hardly use the camera with out - the lens is only .7 so it does not add that much wide angle but does help every shot over allThings that are great about it - makes the regular lens look better, any wider shot compared to the lens it came with is an improvement - seems i was able to Zoom a bit farther with better focus Things that aren't so great about it - its only .7 its really not that wide and its [$] is there a better lens ?> if so save up and get that one if you can - compared to other wide angle lenses this one is not that heavy at all and not much bigger than a smaller camera lensand again i use this lens all the time because it is an upgrade just not that much of one -

I use this with my Panasonic HMC40 and the lens is amazing on that camera. With the 1080p 25 frames a second mode and the wide angle lens the footage looks genuinely cinematic in good light or lighting.

Comments about Panasonic VWW4307HPPK 0.7x Wide Angle Conversion Lens (43 mm):
The adapter works as advertised and doesn't noticeably degrade picture quality, at least in controlled lighting situations. The build quality is fine. I bought this for my Panasonic HMC80 which is already a little front-heavy, especially when used on the shoulder, and the heavy adapter makes it a little worse. I subtracted a star just for this and also because the HMC40/80 lens really should be wider to start with, making this adapter redundant. But it's immensely useful -- almost vital for this camera IMHO -- and does what it's supposed to, so no complaints.

I am using this primarily to shoot movies of my newborn son. Its great for close quarters and such. I am rigging the camera on the BOB stroller with a guerilla pod and getting some great shots of time lapse and real time video of the tike. I do wish at times it was a little wider but all and all it is a nice fit on my little panasonic camcorder (HDC-HS300). Yeah its heavy glass, but I have never seen a light weight, zoom through, version. Thumbs up!

I needed a great wide angle lens for my camera (panasonic ag-hmc40) and found that this one works the best. You cant see the lens in the shot from any zoom distance. you can find a cheaper lens through 3rd party companies, but its like the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I simply use my camcorder for home videos and personal events. I enjoy taking video and editing but do not care to do anything professional. I wanted this lens to improve close up shots of my family. It works very well . . . .adding a much wider view without distorting or degrading quality. It is not cheap but increases the ways in which you can use the camcorder. Overall very happy with the product.

The lens work great! looks and feels more professional than as in image on website.
I use the product in studio when shooting green screen and this substitutes for the length of my studio because its not that big at all!
where i had to leave a couple of doors open and shoot from a corridor to get a full body shot, i can now do it in studio comfortably.

I use this for concert and stage recordings.
This is the easiest conversion lens I have ever had.
The hardest part is where to park the original lens until the capture is complete.

Comments about Panasonic VWW4307HPPK 0.7x Wide Angle Conversion Lens (43 mm):
I have the Panasonic TM300 (equivalent to the HS300) and it doesn't have a wide enough angle lens for indoors. I knew that when I bought it so no probelms there.
So I decided to get this 0.7 wide angle lens... and it's fantastic. There is no vignetting at all, and the lens adapter is super fast - has little effect on the low light performance if at all.
Only issue is that it is a little heavy - but that's only because the camera is so light. Not an issue at all.
I also like that it does appear to have been designed as an after thought to the camera. When it is mounted, the camera sits perfectly on a table with the conversion lens sitting nicely and supporting itself.

Comments about Panasonic VWW4307HPPK 0.7x Wide Angle Conversion Lens (43 mm):
This was ordered by me specifically for my shoot in the number one ski resort in the world. This baby delivered outstanding shots. The first day I didn't use it & fully regretted it. When I used it the next 2 days the difference was night & day. No darkness in the four corners, everything crisp & clear, in focus whether pulling out or zooming in. Absolutely breathtaking shots, of the best quality I could imagine. Plus shooting talent pulling off tricks in the stunt parks of the resort were again amazing. As you pan, zoom, pull out with fast moving objects everything is again fully focused & in the frame. Yes I highly recommend this lens, it delivers the goods.

I use my camera w/ the lens for personal home videos, and for professional use for shooting short documentaries/narrative videos
one of the great things about the wide conversion lens is that it doesn't distort. You can't tell it's a wide angle lens until your subject is about 6 inches from the lens. It doesn't curve lines much at all, and gets a lot in your shot!
the only not so great thing about it is that it is a bit heavy. But that's explained in the details of the product before you buy it, but it's really not a problem at all.

Comments about Panasonic VWW4307HPPK 0.7x Wide Angle Conversion Lens (43 mm):
Easy-to-use 0.7x wide angle lens add-on for your 43mm camera lens. Screws on to the threaded lens or to an existing filter already attached to your lens. Great image quality, design and construction. Comes with two lens covers and a storage pouch. Zoom-through works well.
Only issue has been some vignetting when using with a filter already attached to the lens. For best results, attach directly to lens without any other filter in place.
