Comments about Sunpak 622 Super Pro-System TTL Flash:
This is the most powerful handle flash ever made. I like a handle flash to get the flash head AWAY from the camera lens. With this unit, I can literally control all of the light and where it is going. I own two of these and purchased the first one over 20 years ago. They put out a lot of light and have a lot of control. I have shot stadiums and church sanctuaries full of people (With Bounce!) to great effect. I have yet to use another flash, and I have borrowed many, that works as well and is still hand-held. I use high power (2500mAh) NiMH batteries, replacing them about every 15-18 months, for full-power recharges in the 2-3 sec. range. Using the standard module for all my cameras, I get great metering from 1-200 ft., full-power to all-most-nothing, day or night. I own most of the various heads, but use the zoom and bare-bulb most of the time. I cannot express how much I enjoy this unit. I just wish that Sunpak had continued supporting this unit. It is so well designed that if they had, it would have been easy to support all the modern digital units with TTL. NOBODY makes a flash this good anymore! This is a PRO flash, so you DO NEED to know how to operate a camera. If you like to let the camera decide how to take pictures, this is not for you. I like how I can go to an event and set the flash and camera for more light than I think that will need and then let the flash meter for great photo's; making only minor adjustments with aperture, as needed. Get this flash, get some experience with it, get great photo's and love it like I do.

This is an excellent flash. It is subtle enough to be a catchlight for portraiture or it can light up a football field for large group shots or whatever you might be shooting. The only thing that I don't like is the fact that I haven't found a very reliable power source other than C batteries. These can get expenseive but I have invested in rechargables and these work the best.
