I wanted a small backpack that would be great for traveling in cities in Spain. The Fastpack 100 fits my 7D with 17-40 with hood reversed as well as my nifty fifty with hood reversed in the main compartment. I love the two compartment design for travel as you don't have to lay the pack on the ground and open the entire bag to access other items. The quick access capability is also very nice. The camera compartment will not hold a pro body (Nikon DX series or Canon 1D series body or any body with battery grip attached) nor will it carry a lens much wider or longer than the 17-40 with hood reversed. The top compartment is very roomy and fits my wallet, cell phone, keys, and plenty of extra space for batteries, chargers, a small point and shoot camera, cables, and a flash if I wanted to pack one.
I debated between this bag and the Lowepro Slingshot 100. The decision came down to upper compartment space. The fastpack has a lot more room for accessories in the top compartment than the slingshot does making it a better option for me. The Slingshot 100 has more room in the camera compartment.
My only con about this bag is that it doesn't have a netbook compartment in the back, which would have been great and very convenient.

Have used this for one year now and it is just so-so. The side compartment for the camera is OK if you carry the pack on your left shoulder but not your right. I found out the hard way that you have to be very, very careful to zip the camera compartment completely shut. The side design allows the camera to easily fall out. It is also too small to carry a camera with a zoom lens attached. The only other gripe is that it was very hot. The back padding didn't seem to breath very well in hot climates.

This backpack works great with my Cannon EOS. It's easy to access, and has enough room for all my accesssories so everything stays in one place. I would highly recommend to anyone on the go.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 100 Backpack (Red/Black):
I really like the size, is very portable and light. The materials have been durable. I think to me the fact that is waterproof is priceless, cause I can be outside taking pictures of my trips and not being worried about my equipment. I dont like the color so much, it lacks some personality, I will love to see maybe a green or orange detail or even a brown exterior instead of the black and red.
The upper zipper is a bit unconfortable, since the bag is made out of a strong material is not very flexible and to open it you have to pull and fold.
But oder than that it works perfectly, its an awesome product.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 100 Backpack (Red/Black):
First of all, I love the colour, especially since it was cheaper than the blue one for some reason.
This bag is well padded for protecting your camera and also your shoulders when carrying it around. Great for taking overseas. You can stick other items in there too, no need for a separate camera bag and hand bag!
The bottom part is separated into different compartments for your camera gear, like lenses etc. There are also plenty of pockets throughout the bag..and one for your mobile too!

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 100 Backpack (Red/Black):
I use the bag for my nikon d40, my telephoto lens, and my fisheye lens. The bag easily fits thus equipment and still has room for another lens. Moreover, the top pocket is great for Other camera gear, such as chargers or point and shoot cameras, or personal items, such as wallet or cell phone. The pocket can even fit a light sweat shirt. I love this bag.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 100 Backpack (Red/Black):
The bag is much smaller than I acctually thought browsing on the website, what it probably my fault as I should have read better the specs. It turns out for me it is hard to put some big lenses on it like my 70-300mm Tele.
Besides that the bag is very well constructed, and it made me very confortable to put my equipment there with the feeling that it is safe from any damage.

Holds all my equipment with room to spare. I didn't want a big bulky backpack because I'm short and this one is perfect. Cinch up the straps once it's on and it stay put, without sliding down my back.

I own a Canon Rebel xti with a battery grip, and it is awesome. It also holds a my extra lens and a few other odds and ends. I love the fact it doesn't quite look like a camera bag, and the top section is appropriate for any non-camera related items. Access to the camera is really quick and convenient.

This is a good product for taking camera and a lens or two around with you. It can have room for a wallet and lightweight jacket - rolled up. I use it in the city so do not need another purse. Makes taking a SLR easy.

I needed an "everyday" backpack to carry my camera, a few basics and some personal items, and that is exactly what this bag offers. If you want and/or need room for all of your equipment, don't buy this bag, but if you want to insure that you conveniently will have you camera available to you and well protected, for those everyday photo opps, then this is your bag.
