Tiffen Digital HT (High Transmission) Neutral Density (ND) Glass Filter - Tiffen, an industry leader in the design and production of high-end filters, has produced a series of filters which contain the strength of a titanium coating along with high-end optical glass.
Using their patented ColorCore technology, this filter represents the highest scratch-resistant durability available. There is no need to worry about cleaning this filter since the coating protects the surface thereby maintaining the optical quality of the glass.
The Titanium coating consistently reflects less than 1% of the imaging light hitting the front surface of the filter while transmitting nearly 99%.
Neutral Density filters have several uses and offer the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. ND filters appear grey and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. They have no effect on color balance.

I use this filter to shoot weddings in harsh sunlight at a wide apeture. It works like i was expecting I just wish it wasn't so darn expensive! It would get five stars if it weren't for the price.

I found this product to be of great use. Just did a shoot where it was incredibly sunny outside. Popped the filter on and was able to get the blur that I needed. In addition, the filter is incredibly durable. Would definitely buy this filter for any future lenses.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Neutral Density (ND) 1.2 (4-Stop) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
This filter hit the right spot for me. In super bright daylight, it'll let you open up to get good depth of field. But it's not too strong for lower light. It's right in the middle. So if you're looking for a previous stop down in one condition of the other, consider going heavier or lighter. But this was an ideal middle of the road for me.

You're at the right place but the wrong time. Use this filter to extend the exposure time for the effect you want.

Use for outdoor portrait photos where I want to use fast apertures and/or fill-flash in manual mode. Works great in bright midday sun. No color distortion. The only downside is that I wish it came with a firm case for better storage protection (it comes with a cushioned wallet-type case)

What more to say, I put it on and it does what it says. I haven't tried the cheaper Tiffen ND so can't compare but this HT filter works great.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Neutral Density (ND) 1.2 (4-Stop) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
I own two ND filters by Tiffen. This one is my favorite due to it's solid construction and use of superior materials.
My other one was much cheaper at a cost savings of more than 50% less but(!), it came with loose glass within a very flimsy ring that resulted in rattling sounds whenever you took it out to place it on the lens.
In contrast, THIS filter is solid and I never have to worry about it falling apart in my hands. No filter caused light flares. Clean sharp images without color change.
I am sticking with Tiffen's HT lenses and multi-coated filters from now on. Worth the extra money in every way.

Comments about Tiffen 77mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Neutral Density (ND) 1.2 (4-Stop) Multi-Coated Glass Filter:
I use this 4 stop ND filter to photograph water at a slow shutter speed, and also fashion outdoors with flash, which allows me to shoot at a wider aperture during daylight hours (following the Sunny 16 rule, ISO 200 @ f/16 = a shutter speed of 250, with the 4 stop ND filter allows me to shoot at f/4, or ISO 100 at f/2.8, you still need the same amount of flash however).
