The VSD400 has cushioned touch-pad function control buttons. Power is adjustable in 1/10 stop increments, from full to 1/8 power (4 stops). Its model light intensity may be controlled coupled to, or independent from the strobe power levels you select.
The third light in this kit is the 100EX -- an economical 100 watt/second monolight with modeling light and power variator. It comes with its own stand and a 24x24" softbox.
This kit also includes an Impact 16 channel radio slave system, which allows the main monolight to fire without wires from your camera, thus firing the other two monolights from their optical slaves.

Comments about Impact VSD400 Three Monolight Portrait Boom Kit (120VAC):
I bought these lights about 2 weeks ago. I was surprised by how nice they were when I got them out of the box. I used the lowest priced shipping and got them in 4 days. Like the first review there really isn't much in the way of instructions but it wasn't to hard to figure out. Putting the softbox together without any instructions was kind of hard but I figured that out too. Im sure you could find out how on the web if you needed to. Besides that Everything works great. My main and fill lights are easy to operate and the background light is easy too. Using the radio transmitter and receiver worked flawlessly. Very cool. I haven't had any problems with them going off when there not supposed to that Ive read some people say about radio receivers. Im not in a real big room but I am shooting at 60sec at f/13 ISO 100 with plenty of light. I even dial back the fill and background light. Im anxious to take these to a church and try them. The umbrellas are translucent and work fine. Im sure if I got more reflective ones the lights would really kick out a lot of light. The stands are nice and sturdy and I have no fear of them falling over.
Bottom line these are great and for the money I couldn't find a better deal or more watt seconds.

More Like 4.5 Stars. These Lights Are Great For Rookie Photographers. I Have Never Used Any Kind Of Studio Light Before And Had It Dialed In In About An Hour. The Only Down Side Is That There Were Limited Instructions, Just A standard Sheet Of Paper. Easy To Use And Good Results Too.
