I can get about 300 RAW files + Large JPEGS on a clean card. I shoot with a Nikon D300 which shoots @ 12.1 MP. So not bad. Write speed is not bad either...Read complete review
I can get about 300 RAW files + Large JPEGS on a clean card. I shoot with a Nikon D300 which shoots @ 12.1 MP. So not bad. Write speed is not bad either. It's not SUPER fast, but it is better than paying a heck of alot more for a card that with the same amount of storage and writes twice as fast...of course that's just my opinion :)

Purchase this card from B&H. It was the cheapest for the capacity and speed advertise. The card does indeed have the capacity indicated but it does not have the speed. When photographing the same subject for the same number of shots (controlled light/studio) this card takes 50% longer than my 3 years old Sandisk Extreme III 8 GB CF to clear the buffer (on a new Canon 40D) even though both cards are rated with the same read and write speeds.
I would recommend staying with the trusted Sandisk cards...

I use these cards often in my 744 recorder, and have always had good luck with them. Two of the 3 cards bought last week were NG. Just a bad batch probably. They are usually reliable. Happily they were accepted for return. I'd probably still use them again based on past positive results.

This card is a real value for the money. 133X is middle of the road for write speed, and probably not ideal for journalists or sports shooters. I work mainly on a tripod photographing architecture or reproducing artwork, so card write speed is not much of an issue. If you keep this in mind, I'm sure you'll agree that the Kingston Elite Pro series delivers great performance for the money.

I bought this card to use with a new Sound Devices 702 recorder. It worked ok for the 1st shoot with about 35 audio files captured. However, I noticed some strange behavior with the card files when I connected the 702 to the computer via firewire. They all played so I didn't think anything of it.
At the end of the 2nd shoot I tried to power down the 702 and it wouldn't shut down? After 20 minutes of inactivity (while supposedly powering down), I had to remove the battery to get it to shut off. I thought it was a problem with the 702 but after taking off the battery, disconnecting the power, reconnecting the power, etc, the 702 wouldn't load up -- still frozen. Finally, I took the CF card out and retried the 702 and it worked like new. Once I would reinsert the card, either while off or on, it would freeze the 702 again requiring a total power disconnect to shut off the machine.
I don't know if I could get it working some other way but really, I don't care. I'm not into hassling with workarounds after 2 short shoots.
The moral here, don't cheap out on your media cards. It's tempting and it got me once. It doesn't have to be the fastest card, but it needs to be RELIABLE. I lost all of the audio from the 2nd shoot with the card! The Kingston is going back via RMA today and I'm getting a SanDisk for a few dollars more.
By the way, the Sound Devices 702 is absolutely beautiful and I'm glad it was the card and not the machine!

I use this in my Canon 7d. I like that it holds about 250 RAW files. I mostly do Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and weddings and I want something that holds about 1/4 of what I'll end up shooting so I dont have an entire event on just one card.
