This is the first video camera I've ever owned. Easy to use. Just turn it on and your recording. I'll have to do some studying to learn to use the more complex operations of the camera and the included software. I just needed a camera around for those unexpected moments and to record special occassions. This fits the bill for a good price.

Very easy to use. Great optical zoom. O.I.S. works great. Plenty of storage. LCD screen is very clear.
Zoom button is akward to operate with a one hand grip.

Owned this about a week now, and I have not had to recharge the battery, even though I'm always experimenting with different menu options, and recording clips of my family. I haven't had an opportunity to test the videos on the TV or transfer to the computer yet, so I can't rate the quality of the video yet.

I did alot of research before buying this camcorder. I paid $100 less than [...]! So far the camara is very easy to use and have had no problems! The camcorder didn't have a viewfinder but that was ok.

I'm using this camera to record live music. It's doing a great job! Not having to mess with tapes or cartridges is really nice. The quality is very good, especially the audio.

The VideoCam Suite 1.0 software keeps crashing though, on my Media Center PC (XP, SP2). Very disappointing. Panasonic tech support even told me to try 3rd party software. Very confidence-building.

I had to install it on a work laptop to transfer files off the camera.

I highly recommend the camera. I'm sure I'll get the transfer and burning stuff to work eventually, but the software is not robust at all.

lets speak about its exterior its a small and smart cam with a huge storage capacity of 60 GB hard drive. Battery timing is good and smart to fit within the camera. zooming is good as compare to the mini dv series. video capturing is good.
the video guality is not good as compare to the dv series. also the night visiona and video is not good as compare to the dv series.
overall its a better camera in price and storage as compare to other HD cames in markets.

I bought this camera one month ago and I had the chance to film indoor (my home and some shopping malls). What I like in this camera: easy to use, size and weight great, 50x zoom and OIS.
However, what makes me really disappointed is the quality. I used to record with Sony DV few years ago which shows much better video quality. The situation become even worse when trying to compare with Sony MiniDV !!! (There is no comparison at all) I am really regret that I bought HDD camera and definitely I will come back to Sony MiniDV which produce superior quality and colors.
Software is very slow and useless!!!
Better idea is to rename files extension from .MOD to .MPG and play with Windows Media Player. (You may need to get some free codec from the web)

So far I love it. It is very user friendly than the other cameras that I checked out in the stores. Easy to work, and pretty self explanatory.

Also like that you can edit things out on the camera itself.

This is my first digital camcorder. Also I love that it is very small.

I purchased the camcorder to record our trip through the Panama Canal and have tested it to learn the operation procedures. The camcorder was easier to operate than any I have owned in the past. A great product that I would recommend to all my friends and have.

Prior to purchasing this product, I read many reviews. The one thing they all had in common is that the included software is horrible. So this came as no surprise. The camcorder itself is a good value for the price. It is a relatively simple camera and easy to use. The only complaint that I have is that it does not take that great of video in dim lit areas. There may be some adjustments that I can make, but I just haven't figured it out yet. Outside it shoots great video. It has an awesome optical zoom which works great.
