Cowon's A3 60GB Portable MultiMedia Player is versatile and powerful with a 4" TFT screen. This screen has 800 x 480 resolution and is powered by TI's new Davinci Chipset. The A3 supports a wide variety of multimedia file formats for all kinds of entertainment such as movies, music, pictures and also novels. The stylish portable media player has integrated stereo speakers and A/V outputs for enjoying all your media with your home theater. The A3 can even record from various sources such as FM, Voice (embedded microphone), Mobile TV (with optional tuner), Audio (Line-in) or Video. When choosing portable media devices, Cowon smartly designed the A3 to be an obvious choice.
- Advanced LCD
- The 4" 16:9 screen is powered by TI's new Davinci chipset with 800 x 480 resolution while displaying 16 million colors.
- High-Quality Voice Recording
- With the built-in, high-fidelity microphone, the A3 can record voice at the level of dedicated voice recorders. You can record important meetings or lectures using this feature.
- USB Host Feature
- You can import photos taken from a digital camera to the A3, and view them from using the USB Host feature and view them on the large 4" screen.
- Advanced Overlay Navigation
- An overlay navigation function that shows the playback screen during video playback lets you enjoy the convenience of navigating through other contents in your player. Detailed information such as file size, pixel, format can be viewed while browsing through files that increases the fun of navigation.
- FM Radio Support
- Listen to FM radio and record it by pressing a button, instantly. Play them back on A3, or save to your computer. Also has a preset feature, which allows you to save your preferred radio stations as channel numbers.
- Record from Multiple Sources
- Besides recording from the embedded microphone or the FM tuner, the A3 can record audio from the A/V line-in, video from the A/V input, or Mobile TV (with the optional tuner).

Overall excellent media player. Will play almost anything you can throw at it. Beautiful screen for watching movies and excellent sound quality, but you pay for this in terms of the size and weight of the player; it is not something you will go jogging with.

We have an old VHS video camera that we like, and has a high-quality telephoto lens, but we were unable to use it because there was no easy way to transfer the tapes to the computer for editing. With the A3, it is so simple; you just hook the camera up, and stream your video to its memory. It is great! We no longer have to buy tapes, or worry about how to transfer them to the computer. We have also uploaded movies for travel, music and more. This is a great product!

Awesome product = lots of features. The line in recording is awesome. The joystick kills you. if only they had a better user interface mechanism this product would be shaking. everytime I use the joystick i either go back or go to the next track. i can't seem to stop a track - can only pause it.

Pros: Great display, easy navigating, 'feels' quality, all connectors fit firmly and tight.
Cons: Joystick difficult to just push down without moving to side. JetAudio, by itself, wouldn't play the recorded videos. I used FFDShow and JetAudio for the PC and Flip4Mac with Quicktime on the Mac.
I'll be using this for mobile recording videos from a motorcycle, and hifi low-noise stereo audio of nature sounds.

as a bit of a luddite, I am very impressed with this piece of kit. It has lots of features but I use the music and movie features most of all. The one drawback to it would be (as in my case) that sometimes the battery is faulty and has to be returned for a replacement but thats about the only disadvantage I can point out.
