The Zigview Seculine Twin-1 R3 TRS Wired or Wireless Shutter Release is intended for Sony & Minolta DSLR cameras that are not equipped with a built in infrared remote release system. It is also compatible with Minolta Maxxum & Dynax Series SLR Film Cameras as well.
The remote system includes a sender unit packaged together with a receiver unit which connects directly into the manufacturers own shutter release port allowing the user to trigger the shutter from both in front and from behind the camera. The Twin-1 remote system also includes a cable for wired release - this is particularly useful when taking pictures using the Bulb exposure setting. Plus the remote sender also has a built in bright white LED torchlight to assist you when shooting in low light situations, and a key chain attachment so you can keep a better hold of your remote.
The ZIGView Seculine Twin-1 R3 Remote is able to trigger your camera's shutter from up to 300 feet (approx. 100m) away with the added capability to operate a delayed shutter release, and also supports half shutter depress for pre-focusing and other camera functions. It is ideal for studio or travel photography, and for the enthusiast photographer who wishes to have the freedom to move around the subject while shooting, to be in the picture rather than be left behind the camera, and it can be especially advantageous when taking long exposure photos.

Comments about Seculine Twin-1 R3 TRS Wired/Wireless Shutter Release for Sony/Minolta DSLR Cameras:
My intention was to use the remote release in wildlife and bird photography, while using the wired release for studio shots. Although the lens will focus when the remote release is pressed, the shutter releases only about 25% of the time. When using the wired control, it is much more reliable.

I purchased this remote to use in my studio. It worked fine once I was able to get it connected to the Sony a100. I have had the item for about a year and I have had to hold it together with masking tape. I would steer clear of this item and consider another brand.

Works great for my alpha 100, took some work to get it into the remote spot on the back of the camera. Overall it works great and the remote works from a good distance.

Comments about Seculine Twin-1 R3 TRS Wired/Wireless Shutter Release for Sony/Minolta DSLR Cameras:
I bought this for use with my D300 but as it turns out it is only useful for firing the remote on my D70 at much greater distances than the Nikon ML-3 IR remote.
It works fine except that the timeout function is way toooooooo short. The manual says the receiver for the D300 will timeout and turn off in five minutes. I assumed that would be five minutes of inactivity. Wrong. It just times out and shuts off after about three minutes. Then you have to walk back to the camera, turn it off and back on to get it to work again which makes it totally useless for most uses. You can't even walk to it's max range before it times out and shuts off.
