Comments about Impact Fluorescent Cool Light Two Fixture Kit (120VAC):
I use these lamps in my videography business. The light output is great and the temperature is perfect for my video work. The problem I have is the handle used to tighten the lamp head to the stand is really cheap. I managed to strip the plastic handle the first time I used the product. I removed the handles and now use a box wrench to tighten the nuts. Even so the lamp head are heavy enough to pull them down even when the nuts are tightened. I had to really torque them down to prevent head slippage. The brackets that are tightened down are really thin and cheap. The lighting is exactly what I want but I wish they were better made.

I actually purchased the VA-903 II kit. My kit is identicle to this kit except for the diffusion sock size. So go see my review of the II kit. All comments are valid except for the fit of the sock.
This is high quality lighting at an affordable price.

Comments about Impact Fluorescent Cool Light Two Fixture Kit (120VAC):
This light set is well worth the money. I shoot portraits and still life and cant stand using a flash. This two light set is just what I've been looking for. The color temperature is great just around 5400 K. The overall light control provided by the multiple switches is a feature you would expect to find on a unit twice this price. The manufacture does not include any assembly instruction, but I would think that anybody with a little common sense could assemble the light heads without to much trouble. If you want a setup that will provide excellent light quality and don't want to spend 1K for a setup this is the system for you.

[...] The lights were easy to put together and there was no damage to any components. The fit and finish is good but not great but what do you expect at this price. This is a square deal for the money.
Comments about Impact Fluorescent Cool Light Two Fixture Kit (120VAC):
The plate that covers the electronics wasn't lined up properly so I couldn't screw in the rods that support the diffuser disk. I unscrewed the plate entirely to try and line up the female screws with the holes and realized that the female screws that are bolted to the unit weren't even aligned.
I also took issue with the packaging for the same reasons as the previous commenter.

Comments about Impact Fluorescent Cool Light Two Fixture Kit (120VAC):
The first lamp reflector came out of the box with two small round dents as if the diffuser rods had banged it. No wonder, these lamps were poorly packed from the manufacturer. The rods were loose in the box, unwrapped, not even taped together, so that they moved freely. The two extra fuses fell on the floor(they were in a small envelope also loose in the box) and I found them and taped them to the side of the lamp with the gaffer tape in case I needed them for future. The diffuser rods screwed into unthreaded holes and refused to seat against the plate surface, so they are at risk of breaking off if the diffuser is bumped. A one inch piece of wire fell out of the lamp while I was screwing in the bulbs. Thankfully it fell out, it might have shorted and started a fire. The sockets in which the bulbs mounted did definitely not appear to be quality electronics (the material under the contacts looked like paper egg crate material, but then I am not an electrician). I ordered another brand, paid $100. more, and am very pleased with the quality of the new lights.
