Comments about Domke F-5XC Large Shoulder Bag (Black):
Let me start off by saying that when contemplating which bag to get, I found that (personally) it is important that the main compartment be zippered as I would also be using it for storage when the camera is not in use for extended periods of time. I figured that having a zippered main compartment would decrease the chances of dust getting into the camera and lenses versus non-zippered ones.
I initially bought the Domke F-5XZ, the wax coated version the the F-5XC. When I got home I realized that color and texture is not the only main difference between the 2 models. The F-5XZ lacks the zipper for the lower compartment that enables for access to the bottom portion of the bag without having to open the top zipper and fumble through the stuff on top to reach something at the bottom (I usually keep a smaller lens, cords, memory cards---and still have enough room for a flash at the bottom, and keep my Canon 7D with telephoto lens attached as well as a medium sized rocket blower on top, with each compartment separated using the included inserts).
Overall I love this bag because:
1. It looks really cool and discreet--does not look like a camera bag.
2. It is large enough for my needs without being too obtrusive and theres's a good amount of compartments--great walking around bag.
3. Its a Domke so you know the build quality is legit.
4. It is well padded..not as padded as other techy type bags but the padding is sufficient and it does not make the bag bulky.
5. Its waterproof.
6. It gets better with age. I have been kinda beating mine up on purpose and its starting to get that nice vintage military issue look...love it.
Some complain about the velcro on the flap being too loud or just too much velcro..It doesn't bother me at all. There's plenty of easy ways to get around this...I just keep the flap open when in a quiet place (e.g.: museum, churches, etc.). The zipper would still your gear safe.
My only complaint is the 2 square accessory pockets in front, just behind the outer flap, is really not functional for me as they are not covered or zippered and you can very easily lose what you put in there when walking.
I love this bag. My only recommendation for someone considering purchasing this bag is to try checking it out personally at a store to determine if it meets your needs.

Comments about Domke F-5XC Large Shoulder Bag (Black):
Large? Wouldn't say that.
I choose this bag due to it's name and reported size. I was surprised to find out it is not as big as I imagined from the dimensions and diagrams.
I own Nikon D90, Nikon 18-70, Nikon 50mm f1.8 and Sigma 70-200 f2.8
All of them fit in the bag with comfort. However, there's no place to insert anything bigger than a cigarette pack.
There are three external pockets which are not very safe due to lack of zippers or buttons.
On the other hand, it's a very comfortable bag. The strip is wide and has anti-slip patent on it. Surprisingly, it doesn't cause any extra sweating when being carried, even when it's hot and humid.
The whole thing feels massive and strong because of the use of Canvas.
If you don't need to carry a lot - it's a good and fair purchase.

Comments about Domke F-5XC Large Shoulder Bag (Black):
This bag is wonderful, it fits my Canon 7D and 24-70 lens nice and snug LCD down, with enough room for a Flash and some accessories. When I first bought this bag I thought it was going to be a bit bigger since it said "large" and I didn't check the actual dimensions. So when I got it I was somewhat disappointed, however after sitting down and really figuring out a good method of getting stuff in there it is great, and extremely comfortable. I absolutely recommend this for someone looking for a nice shoulder bag that doesn't get in the way for everyday use.

Comments about Domke F-5XC Large Shoulder Bag (Black):
I have a Domke F-2 that I use for all my gear when going on on shoots and want to bring a full array of lenses. But I found I needed something lighter and compact for longer trips (3-day shoots out of state) and grabbed the F-5XC.
This bag is perfect to carry my D80 with the batter grip and a couple of lenses for weekend getaways. I usually will mount my Sigma 10-20 on the D80, then toss my Sigma 70-200mm, Sigma 24-70mm and a Nikkor 50mm in the bag. It's all that I need to get everything from wide-angle scapes to zoom'ed shots.
The bag is rugged with a large access zipper on the bottom (to quickly grab the 50mm, lens cleaner, or what have you) and a few good sized pockets for filters.
It has strong velcro to keep it shut, and the dividers inside are also a strong velcro, making for easy compartment adjustment. Great all around bag.

I'm going to have to agree with the others. This bag is perfect. Fits my Canon 5D along with flash and another lens and a few accessories. And the best part is that nobody can tell it's a camera bag. What's not to love?

Comments about Domke F-5XC Large Shoulder Bag (Black):
I love this bag. I have two other Domkes, they last forever. This one is the perfect size, I use it to keep a flash, batteries, and an extra lens with me. Much better than carrying around a full size camera bag, if you only need a couple things with you. It's also tall enough to fit a 70-200mm. The bag is nice and narrow, so it sits closer to you than the traditional Domkes.

I have searched a long time, but now I found the perfect bag for my camera (EOS 400D, Sigma 17-70, Canon 4.0/70-200L IS). It´s flat with enough capacity for the equipment, it´s very strong and worthy construction and it´s not looking like a photo-bag. I´m really satisfied!!
Accessories I Recommend:
small till medium camera equipment
