Comments about Canon Powershot A470 Digital Camera (Gray):
I do not take many pics but this little camera is changing that. Its light weight on my belt and so far the batteries are lasting well. The card that comes with the camera is way way way too small. I got an 8g card to correct that problem.

Comments about Canon Powershot A470 Digital Camera (Gray):
If you're looking for simple, all around good use, this camera is great. I carry it around for family events and occasional work use. The picture quality is good and the short video is okay (not camcorder quality by any means but better than your cell phone). I originally missed the viewfinder but then you get used to the screen only. The buttons are easy to use but it's not a "one-hand" camera. The zoom button is by your thumb and the actual button to take the picture is at the top of the camera. So you will need your other hand to steady the camera. Most of us use two hands anyway, but if you are multi-tasking (like holding your kids hand and trying to take a steady shot with the other), it may take some practice.
If you are looking to shoot pictures at a second's notice, this may not be your camera. It's a little slow with snapping the picture, but then again this is an inexpensive point and shoot. For faster picture shooting you may need to spend a little more or get a digital SLR.
Flash works well. Transfer of pictures is easy. I just hook up the USB cord and plug it into my Mac. iPhoto does the rest. I didn't bother with the included software.
This is a good camera for home use or for the office (if speed is not a concern). Easy to operate for kids and adults.

Comments about Canon Powershot A470 Digital Camera (Gray):
Purchased primarily for the kids to use. And they can use it just fine. The 5 year old snapped off 125 images the other day at the fishing derby. And I didn't have to worry about my digital SLR being dropped or banged.
I keep it with me to cover that odd occasion when you would like to/need to take a photograph, but don't have the SLR at hand.
Good quality, reasonably quick.
I personally prefer a viewfinder, but I can adjust to the LCD.

Comments about Canon Powershot A470 Digital Camera (Gray):
This is used at the office where lots of different hands are on it and they all seem to be able to figure it out well enough. If there is any down side it's the way the zoom works - different than the conventional zoom around the top "picture taking" button - it's below on the back and that can be awkward if you need to zoom quickly or on the fly.

Comments about Canon Powershot A470 Digital Camera (Gray):
Great camera and easy to use. The software provided is great too. Just be sure if you are shooting something in back of something else you put the camera on manual or it will hit only the forefront. Also be sure to get the extra memory card, the one it comes with only holds 12 photos. Only other problem is the lag time between pressing the button and getting the shot, if you are shooting movement be sure to shoot early enough to compensate. But other than that the camera is great for everyday use at a good price.
