well put together. sound is excellent. a little bit bigger than i expected. using for speakers around the house and monitors when DJing. do wish there was a way to chain them together, would make them easier to set up.

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe 130W 8" Studio Reference Monitors (Pair):
the first thing that i noticed when i first got the monitors was the size. i didn't realize how big an 8" monitor would be in my work station. after the initial shock (a good one at that) i plugged in my dj setup. the bass was awesome (9/10) and the treble was pretty good too (7/10). overall i was really satisfied with the quality for how much i spent on these monitors. in the box also came some thin foam sheets to place on the bottom of the monitors. nice little bonus.
there were people annoyed my the blue light in the front on the speaker but i wasn't bothered by it. another thing someone complained about was the huge sticker thats stuck on in the top left corner. these are 2 things that dont affect the performance at all so i could care less..

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe 130W 8" Studio Reference Monitors (Pair):
I am a audio enthusiast who recently did a major upgrade for my computer audio setup. After listening to some of my higher quality classical music I was floored at how there were some frequency ranges I never heard before. The bass was so clear and every note was unbelievably crisp and crystal clear. Yes they are very large but that is the only con I can think of.

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe 130W 8" Studio Reference Monitors (Pair):
I just got these reference monitors last week and set them up. So far they sound great. Though the cones still need to be warmed up and my ears need to get used to how they sound before I do some real mixing on them. But so far so good. The only thing that I wish they had were dip switches to change frequencies. They are a little larger than I had anticipated but they are pretty solid so far. I would recommend these to those that are just starting out as audio engineers. Decent price and mixes will sound good. Plenty of low end response, mid range is excellent and the highs cut through nicely.

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe 130W 8" Studio Reference Monitors (Pair):
I'm a beginner Audio Egineer and was using the BX5a pair for about a month with good results, but the 8" inch subs on the BX8As provided way better and more accurate feedback of Bass than their predecessors. The 130W provides a significant boost in volume and the sound quality is superb. I use this with an AVID mini-box through an 1/4 in. TRS connection and I haven't even cranked it up full volume due to the intensity of sound volume on these bad boys. Only con about these monitors is that they don't come with any connection cables out the box; but that is a minor thing.Other than that, [...] the price is great ([...]) and I'm fully satisfied with my BX8As.

I use the BX8a's for pop,hip hop,and r&b production monitoring. Good solid build quality, and extremely easy to setup. Good low end frequency response with a clear mid range. The high frequency's are a touch bright, but not overbearing. These monitors are an excellent value and look great!

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe 130W 8" Studio Reference Monitors (Pair):
In a fairly small studio or engineering room setting, these are amazing speakers. Very clean, even frequency response with ample bass for the appropriate space. The construction appears top notch and the appearance is very nice as well. I wish some type of wall bracket were available, but otherwise a sound investment (sorry for the shameless pun).

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe 130W 8" Studio Reference Monitors (Pair):
I thought these would be a bit smaller than they turned out to be! That said, they have a nice even sound, but definitely are not appropriate for your average post-production room. Might be a good starting point for powered reference monitors in a larger audio-centric room, though.

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe 130W 8" Studio Reference Monitors (Pair):
I got these for my home recording studio and they sound amazing. Best sounding monitor out there for the money in my opinion. The only complaint I have is if you are sitting really close to them they have a small amount a self noise from the amps going through the tweeter. But when Im mixing away I cant hear it so its a small sacrifice for a good price and a great sound. These things are crystal clear in the highs and did I mention the lows coming out of these babies?? Great for R&B or Hip Hop studios. If you don't have a lot of cash and want clear sounding professional monitor these are the way to go.

I use these for both music production and sound editing for various video and film projects. The BX-8's have an incredibly clear, crisp sound that isn't muddied when low frequencies are tweaked. They are stable and consistent for anything from editing dialogue or narrations to hearing a full orchestra in it's many parts. They are a great choice and I'm very satisfied.

Solid imaging and it meets my expectations. I'm using them in conjunction with Adobe CS4 Production Premium suite software.
The speakers are sensitive and I do get a slight and very low audio buzz from the speakers in stand-by when there isn't sound flowing through them from my PC workstation. It's not the fault of the speakers, but from the computer itself with the integrated audio. (The solution is to use the mute button which masks the buzzing sound for the most part).

Bought for studio mixing. These monitors are the most accurate I've ever used. Even the slightest nuances are brought out through these. Great buy.
