The CX 400 stereo earphones from Sennheiser offer terrific sound quality in a lightweight and comfortable design. Perfect for use with MP3 players, CD or DVD players, portable video game systems, and more, the earphones fit snugly in your ear thanks to the enhanced eartips. Three sizes of the eartips are included, allowing you to find the perfect fit. This ensures the maximum degree of ambient noise isolation, and also helps to improve bass response.
The cable has a standard 3.5mm stereo mini plug for wide compatibility. The cable is short, ideal for use with a cell phone or MP3 player with a remote. An extension cable is included for added reach. A cable clip and cable winder let you choose the perfect amount of slack and ensure stability. A handy carrying pouch is also included for storing and protecting your earphones.

Love the included bag to keep everything in.
Good Sound quality (not GREAT, but good)!!!
Wiring seems a little on the weak side. Hope they last, but I'm being gentle with them.

I bought this for the extra short cord since my G1 phone has this odd attachment for the microphone that adds considerable length to any headphone. I actually wish it was shorter so the plug would be near the mic, but it at least does the job better than most out there. The headphones do an ok job of noise cancellation, but aren't the most comfortable. The other issue is the cord material is rather rubbery which makes it get stuck on lots of things (including itself) frequently resulting in the uncomfortable and annoying experience of having them ripped out of your ears. I see now why many in-ear headphones have fabric cords since they make a ton of noise in your ear whenever the cord moves. I like them for the subway since I can block out all the loud obnoxious people, and then are nice and small, but I don't think I would buy them again and next time I am going for clamshell style headphones.

Every thing is great about these except the length of the cord. Without the extension, its too short, with the extension its too long. What were they thinking when they made this. couldn't they just make it the length apple makes them?
The output is very good though and i have no trouble hearing music on the subway either. very comfortable and clear.
The cable just keeps getting in the way. -2 stars just for the cable.

These are great especially for the price. They block the sound very well and have excellent sound quality!! Not too mention one of my main problems with my other sets is they never seem to want to stay in my ear and are very uncomfortable after wearing for a bit. However, these stay in great and they're comfortable!!

On Cxwxn D2 with the Sennheiser CX400, bass becomes much more alive and punchy on just volume setting 15. Mach3bass is not needed at all. For classical music, esp violin solos, I still like to get more power on the high frequency range, but am satisfied. This is the best all around earphone for this price range
Had a Sxxy ex85lp. It's a good earphone with good clarity. However, for the same price, I would pick CX400 without hesitation.

I got this as a replacement to the iPod earphones -- the iPod earphones just wouldn't stay in my ear. I tried these, but the sound was tinny and small; it was like listening to a tiny old transistor radio. I returned them and wound up finding some foam earphone covers that fit my iPod earphones and that worked to make them stay in my ear.

Excellent sound quality, lots of bass. Sometimes when I'm using these I find it hard to believe I am getting such sound out of such small earphones.

Overall these are decent consumer headphones but they do have some sound issues. The bass is way too emphasized which makes them sound muddy with many types of music. They do produce pretty clean highs but not enough to overcome the overly muddy mids in most cases. This problem can be mitigated somewhat by using an EQ. Of course that isn't practical on most devices you'd be using these headphones with. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. If you want really good, clean, balanced sound with in ear headphones you should probably look at the next higher price range. However, these will most certainly sound better than any headphones that came with your device.

These headphones have very good to excellent audio quality a bit sweet sounding but still very flat response. noise isolation is also very good, my only complain is that the cord is too short unless you use an arm band for your player. otherwise you always have to use the extension cord whith its dangling terminal.
